Play some games

  • Interview impressions
    1. Write the names of different stars on pieces of paper and put them in a hat.
    2. Have your friends pick a piece of paper out of the hat.
    3. Interview your friends, who have to respond as their celebs would.
    4. One point is awarded to the person who guesses who the celeb is first & one is to the person doing the impression.
  • Guess the film
    1. Write three facts about Oscar winning films on different pieces of paper.
    2. Read them out and your guests have to guess the film. Pause between each fact to give your friends a chance to guess the film.
    3. Examples
      • Facts:
        • The person who won Best Actor for this film refused his award
        • The film starred Al Pacino and Robert Duval

        • Directed by Elia Kazan
        • This film was more than just a contender
        • Answer: On the Water Front
  • Guess the film
    1. The player pulls the names of films and their stars out of a hat.
    2. The player then (silently) has to act in the manner of that star in that film.
  • Predict the winners
    1. Ask your friends to predict the winners (one point for each answer)
  • Give out your own Oscars
    • Give out prizes for:
      • Best overall games player
      • Best post on the red carpet
      • Best Oscar winner predicator
      • Best costume
  • Have acceptance speeches
    1. As a final game, each winner has to give an acceptance speech.
    2. A bonus prize goes to the funniest.
    3. For bonus points, tape the speech and put it up on Facebook.
  • Give them a swag bag
    • You probably can't include the latest Rolex, but let your guests leave with a bag containing:
      • Celebrity magazines
      • Movie magazines
      • Fake Oscar statues
      • Popcorn
