Confessions of the Professions Welcomes the Vision Impaired
February 2, 2015 – When Confessions of the Professions first started, we were worried about our material being copied from one site to another. We wanted our material to be original and unique and we did not want other websites to scrape it or duplicate our content and put it on their website. Thus, we made the decision to prevent selection of text on the entire website. Readers could still read but selection of text was unavailable.
Although we knew the consequences of blocking the selection of text, such as losing our vision-impaired and blind readers, we had decided to keep text selection blocked for the two years this website has been in existence. As Confessions of the Professions gained popularity in readers, so did our fan base of specific readers, including the deaf, the blind, and many others with disabilities.
We feel that we have been discriminating against these readers and we sincerely apologize from preventing you from reading this website for so long. After receiving several emails and speaking with several people who were vision-impaired and wished to read the confessions, we heavily considered the option of allowing them to read it. What have we, Confessions of the Professions, got to lose? We prefer to gain new fans, readers, and visitors. Therefore, in our efforts to make it up to you, the vision-impaired, or those who have trouble reading and prefer an e-reader tablet to read the confessions, but were unable to do it before, we have enabled the selection of text, which is available on all e-readers and we hope you enjoy Confessions of the Professions.
We appreciate your loyalty and readership! Please enjoy the newly opened Confessions of the Professions.
