Confessions of the Professions Data of 2017
It has been a pretty good year. We have published quite a few confessions this year and are still going strong, with much more to come. If you have been with us for a while, you might know that every year, we try to release to you as much data as we possibly can about the visitors of Confessions of the Professions.
There is no reason for us to hide or keep private any of the information we have, and so, we try to be as transparent with you as we possibly can. In our first few years, we did not have as much data to collect, but as our popularity increases, so does the data we have about our visitors.
As we have revealed in the past and in our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, we have some tracking scripts on our website that gather data about our visitors. We cannot see you personally. We do not know who you are by name or where you live. What we do know is some of your browsing habits, your gender, your age, and possibly even your shopping habits. While we do not personally sell this data, we do reveal it at the end of the year so that our contributors may have an idea of the types of visitors we are receiving so that they may cater new articles towards our visitor demographic.
These analytics scripts are on many different websites, which track you via cookies and your IP address in order to understand things about you and give the data to whoever is using the scripts. More specifically, we use Quantcast, Google Analytics, and a several others to try and gather data about our visitors. We definitely do not use this data against you, but rather to cater to you in our understanding what type of material you might like to read or be interested in. This information may or may not interest you at all, but we do make it public anyway. What you do with it and whatever you take away from it is completely up to you. Some of the data may be understandable, while other data is just “as is”, and we might not even know what it means.
You can review data we have published in that past in these confessions:
