Confessions of the Professions Free Publication After Securing Sponsors
July 26, 2018 — On July 1, 2018, we had made the announcement that we would be charging for publications on Confessions of the Professions. We were very reluctant to do this after upgrading to a new server, which helped us with keeping the website running, as its resources and demands increased, but we were in serious need of help to cover the costs of the server. After efforts were made to charge for publications, which ended up being quite unsuccessful, we were able to find a few sponsors and secure the ability to keep publishing for free.
We spoke to a few marketing agencies to explore why they could no longer afford the fees and were generally met with the fact that they had no budget to do so. We knew charging for publications may hurt our relationship with our current contributors, but we were desperate to somehow find help to pay for the costs of the server. While some sponsors have opted to remain anonymous, we would like to thank Kelly Jo Designs by Wine and WP Bubble for making it fully possible to keep doing what we do best: publishing articles focused on jobs, careers, and the workplace.
We are happy to announce that starting on August 1, 2018, we will be publishing for free again. We will still leave our option of paying for publications available and give immediate priority to those who wish to pay the small fee. Other publications may take up to a week or more to become published and will not be given as much priority.
We are very happy about this announcement and hope that anyone wishing to see this website continue and support it will pay the small fee to support our cause.
We will be accepting all confessions by email AND through the website.
