Interviewing for a new job can be a mentally taxing experience for any candidate. In fact, a new study by JDP revealed 93% have experienced anxiety related to job interviews. So, how do Americans get their nerves in check and prepare? JDP surveyed 2,000 people to find out:
- Avg. candidate spends 7 hours researching a company before interviewing
- Top items brought to interviews: resume (90%), pens (62%), references (60%)
- 37% conduct mock interviews beforehand
- 2 in 3 prepare anecdotes ahead of time (1 in 4 plans a joke)
Beyond interview prep, the study revealed how candidates balance their current jobs and their job hunt. We found 3 in 5 admits to applying for jobs while at work, and 58% have had job interviews during their normal work day.
