Product packaging can be found almost anywhere. It does not, unfortunately, vanish into thin air. COVID-19 has expedited the shift in consumer purchasing behavior, resulting in an increase in ecommerce and changes in product packaging and distribution. The global economy’s expansion, the multiplication of SKUs, and the rise of consumerism have all contributed to an increase in product packaging volume. Simultaneously, the ground is being plundered for raw resources, and the amount of poorly managed packaging trash is wreaking havoc on the ecosystem.
There is an increasing need to decrease trash, and recycling can assist in this effort. Recycling conserves resources, reduces waste in landfills, and aids in the reduction of air and water pollution. Understanding the basics of recycling can assist both consumers and businesses in reducing trash and helping the environment.
Sustainable printing processes and technologies, as well as recyclable and biodegradable materials and those derived from previously recycled post-consumer waste, have all arisen as new eco-friendly packaging options. Recyclability is critical for sustainable packaging, and understanding recyclable materials and methods may help firms make more informed decisions about sustainable product packaging.
Recycling symbols, information, and advice are included in this infographic by Meyers Printing to help your company move toward a more environmentally friendly and sustainable future. Consumers will make better decisions about what to do with their product packaging after use as their understanding of material recyclability improves.
