Enjoy Our Newly Designed Informational Footer
November 27, 2021 — Happy Thanksgiving everyone and we hope you spent some well-needed and cherished time with your families! After realizing that the footer was redesigned and not having posted any news in almost a year, it is about that time that we released some light news about the website. For years, the footer sat nearly empty, with just a few suggestions for reading new confessions, but only offered about five articles across. We had been looking for something that would be useful, helpful, and resourceful.
Several attempts and different designs were not yielding the exact and desired footer we wanted, but after having a vision of something simple, yet eloquent, not too overbearing, despite the fact that there are three rows, five columns each, and over 60 articles in the footer. Carefully categorizing our footer, we offer insight into the latest confessions, random confessions, popular confessions, latest infographics, random infographics, popular infographics, latest ONET Insights, random ONET Insights, popular ONET Insights.
We have also included the upcoming confessions, infographics, and ONET Insights. This is a feature we had been wanting to offer forever. Over a year ago, long before the footer redesign, located on the New Confession page, we offered the ability to see the display of upcoming confessions for the month, which would help our contributing authors to know when their articles would be published. In an effort to expand this, we have included a lot of information in the footer, showing five days of the upcoming confessions.
Located just underneath the content of every article is also a related confessions area, which tries to find and match other confessions that have similar content and keywords and display it to you. With almost 4,000 confessions on the website, it is not always easy to discover every great article that we’ve published. But we believe with our new footer area, many confessions will now get a lot more attention and interest.
Since our release of the new footer just over a month ago, we have seen traffic increase by about 200,000 visitors. Adding more unique ways to discover our articles, such as our related links within the content has also helped our author to gain more exposure and truly help others to understand the depth of Confessions of the Professions.
Finally, in the last section of our footer, we added the Highlighted Confessions of every year we have been running this website. It is a tradition to choose about 10 articles every year that we feel are representative and interesting confessions that were shared during that year. It highlights and exposes multiple articles that may not otherwise be known. We also share data on those articles about our website so that we remain as transparent for all of our visitors, whether they are just readers or prefer to contribute.
On the Internet, it is already hard to gain exposure for yourself, but having a community of people who enjoy new and unique articles everyday is our mission. We are constantly thinking of new ways to help push these articles in front of more eyes, but not only do we want our readers to stare at the page for more than a few seconds, our aim is to provide useful and relevant information. Confessions of the Professions is focused on jobs, careers, and the workplace, but with this comes so much more, with a concern for human psychology and treatment whether by an organization or a person. We are proud to deliver to you our new footer which you can’t help but notice if you read beyond just the article presentation.
