Hello everyone, at Confessions of the Professions, we do try to stick to a scheduled programming of daily articles, but sometimes, we have to insert a few articles in there to talk about current events or news. The Corona Virus, just last week, was in China, and now its the reality of our new world. Slightly deadlier than the flu to the vulnerable, particularly the elderly, though many people do recover, while others show no symptoms at all, the virus is now something that is similar to virus outbursts that we have around the world.
The flu mutates every year into a new virus as it continues to learn the human immune system, while evolving into a virus that can live in us and wear us down until we die. The first thing to know about the Corona virus is to actually know facts about it. A lot of misinformation is spreading, so be sure to update yourself on the facts. Beyond the age of 60 are the most vulnerable while those with diseases, such as asthma or diabetes are also at high risk. During this time, it is best not to travel anywhere at all at least while the Earth is cold and the Corona virus is traveling on surfaces and through the air.
Once things warm up and a vaccine is developed, it will be safer to be in large crowds around people again. Or was it ever? That’s for another confession. If you are a company, large or small, and run your business through the computer, do your best to protect your employees by letting them stay home for the next week or two, just until things can be more understood and under control. This virus has truly show us how the world is capable of handling virus outbreaks. Truth is, we are far from prepared on all four corners of the Earth. Our governments are not prepared to protect us.
Fortunately, the media has technically blown the virus out of proportion, causing mass hysteria, people to buy up everything, and spend on the economy, so retail stores are certainly doing well for business, as well as the company that caters to the demands of consumers. The virus itself has been mentioned over a billion times, the most mentioned virus in the history of mankind. While human immune systems have evolved to fight and adapt to viruses over the course of the past four billion years, most of us will get it, but many of us will get sick for a few days, and then be done with it. It may or may not mutate into something else later on, where it becomes like a yearly corona virus flu, but it is our reality.
For now, companies must protect their employees and people must protect their families. Otherwise, true colors will be shown and seen. My company is allowing us to stay home and work from home next week and possibly longer, just until things are calmed down. This is a great effort on the part of my company, considering there are thousands of employees. Corporations must do their part to value human life. This virus will come to pass, like they all do. It will never be truly gone and out of our world, but humans have survived this long. But please, let your employees stay home if you can.
Stay home. Wash your hands. Volunteer to self-quarantine. Or for the introverts, do what you do best.
Stay safe everyone.
