Welcome To Our New Look!
December 21, 2018 — The time has come again, another year, another change. Our appearance has changed, if you didn’t notice! We have gone through about 5 different looks. As we enter into the next year, our 6th year as an online blog, we are very excited to inform you of such a change and still be here and popular enough to make such a life-blogging change!
Our last theme was modeled very closely after Medium.com. There was a time where we became so obsessed with Medium.com that we wanted to closely resemble their appearance and have a similar functionality. As we approached the end of the year, the blog, for me personally, was getting boring. It was the appearance.
Something I have learned greatly about blogging is that if you don’t change anything, if you try to stay the same: you’ll always have your few fans, but sometimes, it is better to upgrade yourself, to update your look, to get fans and readers interested again, and to bring in a whole new audience that is hop the new design.
It is also that every year, the Internet starts to develop it’s own standard, even with WordPress defining its new look for 2019, a plain, bland, Medium.com-like no-distractions, book-type, too much white space kind of deal. Don’t get me wrong: I love white space, but every year, web designers start to come up with a new “standard” look for that year. As our minds evolve to how we want to see information more efficiently, we come up with new templates to get the reader their information faster.
This year, Confessions of the Professions, has come up with a new look as well. While we enjoyed the white, we figured this year, we might go slightly more neutral, as it gives the eyes some relief. Our home page boasts little squares of information with an opening paragraph, rather than paragraphs of information on a page. On every page, a headline, some share buttons, and the main content, as is expected, but delivery is quicker, and more easy on the eyes. We hope you like our new look. We do feel it is faster, more vibrant (for now), and on point.
It is here to stay for a while… or at least, until we get bored of it again and decide to make another change, but until then… hopefully you’re liking it as much as we are! If you don’t like it, feel free to drop us an email to tell us how much you don’t like it. We’d be interested to hear why! 😉
