Know What You Are Reading Before You Read It — Adult Content
December 21, 2013 — Confessions of the Professions has been publishing confessions with mature adult content and “dirty” confessions since its launch. These confessions contain violence, mature content, strong sexual content, erotic stories, adult content, or adult material which is suitable for mature audiences only and not recommended for readers under 18 years of age. We cannot determine or verify the truth of these stories, but they are meant to be solely for entertainment and educational purposes only. No pornographic images or pornographic video content will ever be produced or shown on this website. Some images may be displayed that are for a more mature audience, but we stress to our visitors that no full blown pornographic nudity will ever be shown on Confessions of the Professions.
While we cannot monitor the age of our readers, nor control what people are reading on our website, we give plenty of warning to the reader about the content they are reading. In order to warn the visitor, we have published disclaimers in the Dirty Confessions category. In addition, there had been a popup that prevented the visitor from reading the confession unless they agreed that they understood the material they were about to read may be inappropriate. Unfortunately, the reliability of this popup was dependent on the visitor’s browser and whether they had cookies enabled or not. We have decided to move away from the popup and label every dirty confession or every confession we deem inappropriate for an underage audience with a sticker that reads “MATURE ADULTS ONLY” (as seen below) located in the title of confessions containing erotic or adult material.
We understand the dangers of publishing confessions containing erotica and know that it may effect the ability of this site to be seen as a professional website. However, we wish to continue publishing all types of articles because we feel our readers are mature enough to read the material at their discretion and we feel we should not censor or filter our content on the Internet, as all material should be open to anyone willing to read it and decide if the material is right or wrong for them. We have taken as much precaution as we possibly can to warn the reader of the material they are about to read. We and our authors do not accept responsibility for the material read on this website.
All material is submitted and is protected under the laws of the 1st Amendment of the United States of America. We will continue to publish many different types of article and hope you continue enjoying all of our confessions, including the dirty confessions. We appreciate having you with us and we apologize to any of those who may find certain material on this website offensive, but we do not force anyone to read anything they do not want to read.
