Confessions of the Professions Speed Boost on CDN
May 21, 2016 — In an effort to keep up with the times and the speed, we have migrated all of our images, including our infographics to DreamSpeed CDN which also utilizes WordPress Photon. WordPress Photon is a cache system that takes our images and serves them up on world-wide fast servers. The result of combining both the DreamSpeed CDN cache system and the WordPress Photon cache system is near-instant downloading of images, as they are cached and delivered to a server near you. We had put this off for several years, hoping that our caching techniques on top of HHVM, would have been enough.
As our site grows more in demand, we are always looking for ways to keep our website up to top notch standards in regards of speed and delivery, we always want to ensure our visitors are seeing our content almost instantly, no matter the time of day and no matter the country they reside in.
We do not block or disallow the downloading or embedding of our images, available mostly as jpg or pdf and sometimes png or gif. You are certainly free to use the images and infographics, whether you wish to download and use the image on your own server, or embed ours by copying the link, so long as you provide credit to Confessions of the Professions or the original author or distributor of the infographic.
Upon this switch, your links may appear broken until you update your links. We will continue service of our existing infographics and images until the end of November 2016. After that time, we will be removing all images and infographics from our main servers and relying on our CDN.
This decision will also help increase our server resources to improve page load time and resource delivery as our traffic continues to increase.
