We are all imbibed with the ability to do good with our lives; we can help others and through our activities can make the world a better place to live in for all humanity. However, what makes something good great is inspiration. Inspiration from proper sources gives us the motivation and the courage to lead our lives in such a way that we not only help others but work for the betterment of society as a whole.

This is beneficial for us in the long run since by doing good unto others we are able to draw the attention of the right authorities and improve our position in the world. The access to more resources means more power for us which affects our overall position and also our capacity to help other people.

The success quotes offered by these people help us understand more about how we need to lead our lives not only to enrich our minds and souls but also to gain recognition for our actions. Inspiration does not have to always come from celebrities and famous people. Even the common people are sometimes capable of achieving great things if they set their minds to it and they get to reap rewards for their activities.

Neerja Bhanot

Neerja Bhanot was a flight attendant for Pan Am, based in Mumbai, India, who was murdered while saving passengers from terrorists on board the hijacked Pan Am Flight 73 on 5 September 1986. Posthumously, she became the youngest recipient of India’s highest civilian award for bravery, the Ashok Chakra.

Pastor Lee Jong-rak

Jong-rak is a pastor in South Korea, who created a “baby box”. He attached the box to the side of his house, to allow parents to deposit their mentally handicapped or unwanted babies, to stop them from being abandoned on the side of the road.

A specialist in infectious diseases, Dr. Coffee has been working in Haiti since the earthquake in 2010. She arrived in Haiti after the earthquake and established a new sanatorium in Port-au-Prince. She still works there, without pay, taking public transport.

Aitzaz Hasan was a Pakistani school boy from Hangu District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province who sacrificed his life while preventing a suicide bomber from entering his school of 2,000 students at Ibrahimzai village of Hangu, on 6 January 2014.

Victoria Leigh was an American teacher who was murdered in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. After the gunman entered the school, Soto hid her students, then died trying to protect them, and has since been hailed as a hero.

Scott Neeson, former head of the 20th Century Fox International left Hollywood to save children scavenging in Cambodia’s garbage dumps. He sold his mansion, Porsche, and yacht to care for destitute children in Cambodia.

Irena Sendler

Irena Sendler, growing up in Nazi-occupied Poland, risked her life to save 2,500 children from the Warsaw Ghetto from 1942 to 1943.

Iqbal Masih

A former bonded child labourer from Pakistan escaped the Carpet factory at the age of 10, helped free over 3,000 kids from slavery, helped bring down Pakistani carpet exports by $34 million, before being murdered at the age of 13.

Annie Turnbo Malone

Malone was a millionaire in the 1920s. Malone developed her own line of hair care products, which she sold door-to-door, and eventually trained a staff of agents to sell nationally. Malone donated a large percentage of her revenue to black colleges and organizations helping black families in need.

Dobri Dobrev

100 year old Dobri Dobrev, a Bulgarian, donates all the money he gets from begging to orphanages that can’t pay their bills. He himself lives on 80 euro pension by the government. All the money that he has collected over the years (an estimated 40,000 Euros) has been donated by him to orphanages unable to pay their bills.

Eugene Lazowski

Doctor by profession, Eugene Lazowski saved 8,000 Jews during the Holocaust by injecting dead typhus cells into them, allowing them to test positive for typhus despite being healthy. Germans were afraid of the highly contagious disease and refused to deport them to concentration camps.

Harris Rosen

Harris Rosen is a self-made millionaire who adopted a Florida neighborhood called Tangelo Park, cut the crime rate in half, and increased the high school graduation rate from 25% to 100% by giving everyone free daycare to all the high school graduates.
