Study Reveals The Most Annoying Corporate Jargon
Workplace jargon can help streamline our jobs and bond us to our colleagues, but sometimes it just gets on our nerves. So which buzzwords can we expect to hear in 2023 and which do we hope to never hear again?
Gen Z is bringing the “vibe” to the workplace as this generation is set to make up a third of the workforce by the end of the decade. That’s according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Preply surveyed 1,000 people and asked them about their perceptions of office buzzwords…and let’s just say not all land well.
Key findings:
- “Circle back” is the most annoying phrase followed by “work hard play hard,” and “boots on the ground.”
- “New normal” is the most annoying new buzzword of the year.
“FYI” is the most used buzzword.
The phrase “like a family” is the most annoying to see when job searching.
