When was the last day you did not use the internet? It’s probably hard to remember. We use the internet for virtually everything we do. Nowadays, we have smart homes where almost every electronic gadget is connected to the internet.

The internet is second nature to millennials and young adults. However, they are not the only age group that is using it. The elderly are going online now more than ever before. As a matter of fact, over 70% of them who have access to the internet use it on a daily basis.

There are a lot of factors that affect the rate of senior citizens using the internet. One of them is education. The level of education is directly proportional to the level of internet adoption among this group of citizens.

The infographic below, created by the people at medalerthelp.org shows that only 27% of senior citizens with a high school diploma make use of the internet, unlike 45% of those who have some form of a college experience. Those with at least a bachelor degree have the highest usage of the internet – 65%.
