Why Automotive CMOS Is Better Than CCD Sensors

The digitalized way of living by our civilization turns out to be one click away; improvements and innovations happen year by year, and one example of this is smartphones and digital cameras.

Looking back, history indebted a lot from photographic equipment for capturing the remarkable memories of the past, but it seems that the colors and pictures itself have lacked in showing emotion. It is mainly because of the unclear and full of noise projections from the previous cameras.

With these issues, the digital sensor’s technology builds the concept of the Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor or what they called CMOS.

Compared to its forebear, which is the Charge-Coupled Devise or the CCD, CMOS has much better durability and quality.

Why is CMOS better than CCD?

Compared to CCD, CMOS has a higher level of full well capacity, which means that it can capture a much higher amount of charge for every pixel before saturation occurs.

CMOS also gives us the capability of capturing even a breakneck series of taking photos without affecting its quality and with its traditionally manufactured chip that is similar to the production of its microprocessors, its sensors provide High-quality footage, whether taking an image or video. This breakthrough from digital technology rattled other cameras and the automotive industry.
