I am covering this topic on behalf of STORAGECafe, an online self storage search website. We have just completed a study where we explored which metros are most suitable for workers in bohemian jobs that want to live the dream and I thought it might be interesting for your readers as well. According to our analysis, the New York metro area stands out as the top cultural hub in the country as it has the largest number of bohemians, while LA has the largest share of creative workers.
When it comes to writers and authors, they make up the bulk of self-employed bohemians (63%), with a 3.5% share of bohemian jobs in the U.S. But where will they bring home the biggest paycheck?
As it turns out, writers are best paid in the Los Angeles metro area, earning about $90,956/year, with a whopping 64% wage difference as compared to the national average of $55,440. They also earn decent pay in San Francisco ($83,222) and Providence ($79,250), followed closely by Indianapolis ($76,861) and Dallas ($76,562).
