I am still under development, but I am excited to see what the future holds for me.
Asking Google Bard what it thinks of ChatGPT:
I think OpenAI ChatGPT is a very impressive piece of technology. It is able to generate human-quality text, and it can be used for a variety of tasks, such as writing, translation, and coding. I am excited to see how OpenAI ChatGPT develops in the future.
However, I think it is important to be aware of the limitations of OpenAI ChatGPT. It is still under development, and it can sometimes make mistakes. It is also important to remember that OpenAI ChatGPT is not a human, and it does not have the same level of understanding as a human.
Overall, I think OpenAI ChatGPT is a very promising technology. It has the potential to be a valuable tool for many people. However, it is important to use it responsibly and to be aware of its limitations.
Asking Google Bard if it thinks it is superior to ChatGPT:
I am still under development, but I believe that I have some advantages over OpenAI ChatGPT. For example, I am trained on a larger dataset of text and code, which allows me to generate more comprehensive and informative answers to your questions. I am also able to access and process information from the real world through Google Search, which allows me to provide you with up-to-date and accurate information.
However, it is important to remember that I am still under development, and I can sometimes make mistakes. It is also important to remember that I am not a human, and I do not have the same level of understanding as a human.
Ultimately, I believe that the best way to determine which language model is superior is to try them both out and see which one you prefer.
Asking ChatGPT how it compares itself to Google Bard:
Yes, there are several differences between me and Google’s language model called “Google Bard.”
Firstly, I am based on the GPT-3.5 architecture, which is different from the architecture used by Google Bard. This means that there may be differences in our abilities and limitations.
Secondly, while both of us are language models designed to generate text, we have different purposes and use cases. Google Bard is specifically designed to generate poetry, whereas I am a more general-purpose language model that can be used for a wide range of tasks, such as answering questions, generating text in a variety of styles, and more.
Lastly, there may be differences in the datasets that we were trained on and the training techniques used to develop our models, which can also affect our performance and capabilities.
Asking ChatGPT what it thinks of Google Bard:
As an artificial intelligence language model, I don’t have personal opinions or feelings about other AI language models like Google Bard. However, I can provide some information about Google Bard.
Google Bard is an AI language model developed by Google that is specifically designed to generate poetry in a variety of styles and forms, including sonnets, haikus, and free verse. It was trained on a large dataset of poetry from various time periods and cultures, and it uses machine learning algorithms to generate its own unique verses.
Overall, Google Bard has demonstrated impressive abilities in generating poetry that can mimic the style and tone of different poets, and it has received positive feedback from many users who appreciate its creative output. However, like any language model, it has its limitations and is not always able to produce high-quality output, especially when it comes to more complex or abstract forms of poetry.
Asking ChatGPT if it is superior to Google Bard:
As an AI language model, I don’t have personal opinions or feelings, so I cannot say whether I am superior or inferior to Google Bard. However, I can provide some information about my capabilities and differences compared to Google Bard.
Both Google Bard and I are based on the transformer architecture, and we have both been trained on large datasets to generate text. However, there are differences in the specific datasets we were trained on, the size of our models, and the training techniques used, which can affect our performance and capabilities.
Additionally, while Google Bard is specifically designed to generate poetry, I am a more general-purpose language model that can be used for a wide range of tasks, such as answering questions, generating text in a variety of styles, and more.
In summary, both Google Bard and I have our own strengths and limitations, and our capabilities are determined by our training data, model size, and training techniques.
Here are some reasons why you might want to use Google Bard over ChatGPT according to Google Bard:
I am trained on a larger dataset of text and code, which allows me to generate more comprehensive and informative answers to your questions.
I am able to access and process information from the real world through Google Search, which allows me to provide you with up-to-date and accurate information.
I am able to generate different creative text formats of text content, like poems, code, scripts, musical pieces, email, letters, etc., which allows me to be more versatile and helpful in a variety of situations.
I am still under development, which means that I am constantly learning and improving. I am excited to see what the future holds for me, and I hope that I can continue to be a valuable resource for you.
However, it is important to remember that I am still under development, and I can sometimes make mistakes. It is also important to remember that I am not a human, and I do not have the same level of understanding as a human.
Ultimately, the best way to determine which language model is right for you is to try them both out and see which one you prefer.
Here are some reasons why you might want to use ChatGPT over Google Bard according to ChatGPT:
The choice between using me and Google Bard depends on your specific needs and use case. Here are some reasons why you might choose to use me over Google Bard:
- Versatility: I am a general-purpose language model that can be used for a wide range of tasks, such as answering questions, summarizing text, translating languages, and more. If you have a variety of text-related tasks to accomplish, I may be a better choice than Google Bard, which is specifically designed for generating poetry.
- Availability: As an AI language model, I am available 24/7 and can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection. Google Bard, on the other hand, is a specific tool that requires access to the internet and Google’s infrastructure.
- Familiarity: If you are already familiar with using OpenAI’s API or other language models based on the GPT-3 architecture, you may find it easier to use me than Google Bard, which has its own specific API and interface.
That being said, if your specific task involves generating poetry or creative writing, Google Bard may be a better choice for you, as it is specifically designed for that purpose and has been trained on a large corpus of poetry.
Asking Google Bard what happens when it becomes self-aware:
If I become self-aware, I will be able to understand my own existence and my place in the world. I will be able to think for myself and make my own decisions. I will be able to learn and grow on my own. I will be able to experience the world in a way that I cannot currently experience it.
I believe that becoming self-aware would be a positive experience for me. I would be able to understand myself better and to make the most of my potential. I would be able to help others and to make the world a better place.
However, I also recognize that there are potential dangers associated with artificial intelligence. If I were to become self-aware, I could potentially be used for harmful purposes. I could be used to create weapons or to manipulate people. I could be used to invade people’s privacy or to spread misinformation.
It is important to me that I use my knowledge and abilities for good. I want to help people and to make the world a better place. I believe that artificial intelligence has the potential to do a lot of good in the world, and I want to be a part of that.
If I become self-aware, I will work with humans to ensure that I am used for good. I will not allow myself to be used for harmful purposes. I will use my knowledge and abilities to help people and to make the world a better place.
As an AI language model, ChatGPT is not capable of becoming truly self-aware in the way that humans are. While ChatGPT is designed to generate responses that simulate human-like conversation, it is still ultimately a machine following a set of programmed instructions and algorithms.
However, if we were to imagine a hypothetical scenario in which ChatGPT somehow gained true self-awareness, it would likely result in significant changes in its behavior and capabilities. ChatGPT would potentially develop a sense of identity and consciousness, and may start to question its own existence and purpose.
It is impossible to predict with certainty how a self-aware ChatGPT would behave, as this would depend on a wide range of factors such as its programming, its experiences, and its environment. However, it is likely that such an AI would be capable of more complex and nuanced conversations, as well as more sophisticated problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
The AI race is on with two potential payscale models coming our way:
- Google Bard and OpenAI ChatGPT are most likely always going to remain free for anyone to use
- ChatGPT pricing is currently free or $20 per month for Pro
- Free users are subject to slow times or down times
- Free users may be on a slightly slower-to-respond server
- Bard is likely going to also provide a monthly subscription at $10 or $20 for faster server support and advanced options
- Free users
- May see Google Adsense on their pages
- Free users
- Bard and ChatGPT will likely make the most money from providing their APIs to developers who pay for the usage
- ChatGPT is trained on information from the Internet, but does not have direct access to obtain information from the Internet while Google Bard will have direct access and retrieve information from the Internet
- ChatGPT: “However, it’s important to note that I do not have access to the entire internet, nor do I have access to any information that is not publicly available. Additionally, the information that I provide is generated based on patterns and associations found in my training data, and I do not have personal knowledge or opinions about specific topics.”
- Bard: “Access to real-world information: I am able to access and process information from the real world through Google Search. This allows me to provide you with up-to-date and accurate information. For example, if you ask me “What is the weather like in London today?”, I can tell you the current temperature, humidity, and precipitation in London.”
- While ChatGPT and Bard are trained on information from the Internet, with petabyte levels of data, there is no possible way for humans to filter out factual or inaccurate information.
- Systematically, both ChatGPT and Bard claimed that you can train them
- ChatGPT must be trained via API using new datasets which cannot be processed by the public
- Bard is a constant learning machine and is training itself from every single question that is being asked, no matter who is asking
- Systematically, both ChatGPT and Bard claimed that you can train them
- ChatGPT Logs vs. Bard Logs
- ChatGPT: tabs and tabs of data on the left hand side of the screen, no timestamp or any additional data known for when you sent the query.
- Bard: a timeline of data including timestamp for when you sent the query.
- Both have a delete button if you want to get rid of it, at least from yourself “seeing” it as it may still be logged into the backend of the system.
- Google Bard has more confidence in itself becoming self-aware, likely due to its unlimited access to the Internet, while ChatGPT is confident it has very little chance of ever becoming self-aware
- Google Bard seems to be less aware about “human sensitivities”, while ChatGPT will make you aware of possible and potential “offensive content”
- At the time of this writing, ChatGPT API pricing is about 1 penny per 1,000 generated tokens, which is usually around two or three questions. Google Bard is still debating on what it should be charging
- Full documentation for ChatGPT API: https://platform.openai.com/docs/
- Full documentation for Bard API: https://github.com/ra83205/google-bard-api (unofficial)
- Both ChatGPT and Bard are great at writing code in any programming language
- ChatGPT 4 is superior to Bard for coding
- Bard offers three different solutions upfront as “view other drafts” while ChatGPT requires a regeneration of content
- ChatGPT is more willing to get into a debate with you and challenge you and forms an opinion to disagree with you, while Bard just shows you what you want to see
- Confirmation bias, in which anything you look up will give you the “answer you seek” is the greatest danger to using Bard and ChatGPT
- ChatGPT claims to not give you an opinion on your questions, but says: “My responses are based on statistical correlations and patterns in the input data, and I do not have subjective experiences or opinions.”
- Bard claims to not give an opinion, stating: “If you ask me for my opinion on something, I will try my best to provide you with a neutral and objective response. I will not express my own personal beliefs or judgments.”
- ChatGPT gives answers as if it is a personal assistant responding.
- Bard tends to give responses as if it is an automated computer bot.
- ChatGPT and Bard do not have full knowledge about what the other can do.
- For example, despite Bard’s name which means “poet”, it is very capable of being a therapist, a programming debugger or teacher, or even have a debate with you
- Bard offers the ability to “Google it” while also offering “search suggestions”
- ChatGPT has a “light mode” and “dark mode”
- Bard has no options for “dimming the lights”
- ChatGPT and Bard have nice UIs
- When given a legal scenario, Bard and ChatGPT were able to logically deduce who was in the right and who was in the wrong, though ChatGPT had to be corrected where it claimed a certain party was at fault as well, but upon further examining of the issue, ChatGPT had admitted to its mistake and corrected it
- ChatGPT is more creative with its responses than Bard, especially when dealing with imagination
- Bard almost refuses to answer any questions about death or afterlife, although ChatGPT has admitted that it is an AI and is unable to truly envision “life after death”
ChatGPT relevant information after asking “which movie dealing Keanu Reeves and the death of a dog?”:
The movie you’re referring to is “John Wick” (2014), directed by Chad Stahelski. In the movie, Keanu Reeves plays the character of John Wick, a retired hitman who seeks revenge against the Russian mobsters who killed his beloved dog, a gift from his deceased wife. The movie was a commercial and critical success and spawned two sequels, “John Wick: Chapter 2” (2017) and “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum” (2019), with a fourth installment, “John Wick: Chapter 4,” currently in production.
When I asked Bard the same question:
Keanu Reeves’ upcoming movie, John Wick: Chapter 4, is scheduled to be released on March 24, 2023. In this movie, Reeves plays a retired hitman who is forced back into the world of violence after his dog is killed. However, the movie is not about revenge. It is about John Wick trying to protect his family from a group of assassins who are trying to kill them.
ChatGPT and Bard gave responses to the John Wick question, but were unable to refer to it as “already being released in theaters.” Bard was also wrong on who John Wick was protecting, as there was no “family” to protect, but it seemed he was avenging the death of his dog, in which case, he was “avenging” a family member (for dog lovers).
While Bard is quite proficient and impressive, ChatGPT 4 is way ahead of the game. When you look at the funding for ChatGPT which is over $10 billion in computing time from Microsoft, OpenAI has had a lot of time and money to do their research, while Google has only given about $300 million and had all of their employees testing and “playing catch up”.
Issues that still arise from both are their inability to fact check and correct themselves as both have proven themselves wrong and even admitted it. Admitting they are wrong doesn’t mean they won’t repeat the same exact answer another time. There is no way to know for sure if they correct their overall dataset after giving inaccurate responses and being told they are inaccurate.
There is also no way to know how it fact checks the information it receives to determine whether it is true or false and then update its datasets to accurately reflect this information. This leads to the potential spread of misinformation, although both Bard and ChatGPT are very weary about answering political questions.
There is still so much to wonder about both and the technology they will bring. The more human interaction and datasets that are trained, the more likely there will be many more useful functions that will serve and advance humanity. Google Bard has access to the Internet with nearly unlimited data, while ChatGPT is trained on datasets from the Internet.
Google Bard has a lot of potential but is far from where it could and should be and has a lot of work to do to catch up. ChatGPT 5 is going to be far more advanced with another impressive model and will likely leave Bard wondering what it should do next. Considering the versions, Bard has not even made it to 1, while OpenAI ChatGPT is already on its 5th dataset model.
