So earlier, I was sitting on the toilet, thinking like I always do during that time. I was thinking about what has been the single greatest invention of our lifetime. Technology has obviously advanced us to the point where we are a completely different functioning society.
We could say technology, because that has been very helpful. Technology would include just about everything, if its representing an advancement in human society. So lets leave the realm of technology relating to computers or Internet.
The airplane has been such a helpful invention, allowing us to travel from one continent to another in just a few hours. The wheel certainly has saved hours and turned them into just minutes of getting to work, whether by bike or car. BUT the greatest invention happens to be….
The aqua duct system is probably the greatest invention. The aqua duct system would eventually lead to the sewer system and to toilets in every home. Seriously? Is this not the greatest invention? Imagine having to go into an empty room that is part of the house, but outside, and take a crap inside of a hole and cover it up and throw hay or whatever into it to try and turn it into compost or just cover it up.
I remember watching movies, old westerns especially, where guys would come out of the bathroom and probably did not even wipe. It probably would have been safer to just dig a hole in the ground or go into the woods, than to use an outhouse.
Whatever the method people used to go to the bathroom, is it not more useful to just go sit on a toilet? In your own home? Wipe. Flush your paper down a water system. And not really worry about anything else after that? It is a system we take completely for granted!
Need I really say any more than this? THE SEWER SYSTEM AND TOILET = GREAT INVENTIONS OF MANKIND!
