We all know how a lot of companies have designed and implemented tough recruitment processes so that only those candidates who have the required skill set and aptitude are given the job. This is also because that in a year, thousands of graduates apply for the same jobs, so the companies have a large pool of candidates to choose from and they want only the best ones!
But, do not be intimidated as here we have given a guideline that can help you out to pass almost even the toughest of the recruitment processes. Read ahead and give them a try!
Sell yourself through paper:
The first time you and your prospective employer come in contact is through your resume. This is where the employer will decide whether to call you in for an interview or not. So make sure your resume portrays all your skills and abilities as well as your achievements. A good tip that will make sure the employer will call you is to tailor your resume according to the job you are applying for. Correlate your skills and abilities to the job requirements listed in the job description.
Moreover, you have to make sure that you are marketing yourself rightfully so that not only the reader of your resume is impressed, but he/she is compelled to call you in for the next stage in the recruitment process.
Sell yourself in person: Dress appropriately, behave appropriately:
If you are called in for an interview, now you have to sell yourself in person! First things first, remember that your attire choices are critically important. First impressions are the last impressions! With hundreds of interviews to conduct, the interviewer or the interview panel makes their judgment about you at the first glance and then ask you the questions.
No one wants to hire a sloppy looking guy or lady, so dress sharp. Make sure your attire is not garish nor is it too showy, but dress in somber and sophisticated attire which shows you are a responsible person.
On the day of the interview, try to reach the required destination at least 10-15 minutes early. This will show them that you are punctual and dependable.
Remember, how many skills and abilities you may list on your resume, it is the interview stage they will decide whether you were being honest or lying by your actions.
Be prepared, be well prepared!
Make sure you read the job description, the company website so that you have the basic information about what the company is about and what the job requirement is. This will show the interviewer that you are actually interested in the job as you took out time and found more about the company as well as the job.
Many companies also have tests for technical jobs, so even if you were not called in for a test, but just an interview, prepare ahead and make sure you are prepared for any kind of test.
Give it your best shot!
Remember, all the other candidates are no better than you are, so be confident and give it your best shot!
