Who Wants To Be A Trillionaire?

When the Forbes 400 began back in 1982, all it took was a small $75 million to rank on the rich list. The majority of the people on the list were wealthy through oil or manufacturing, with only 3% from technology driven fortune. Compare this to the 2016 list where most of the top earners have found their success through technology, it’s a very different state of affairs and a real representation of the times we are now living in.

However we have now surpassed mere millionaires and we’re in an era of the mega rich, with over 2000 billionaires around the world, that’s 233 more than there were a year ago in 2016. To keep up with the world’s billionaires, Forbes have created the renowned Rich List aka The World’s Billionaires List, with successors such as Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg dominating the list, it begs the question of what is next for these money moguls?

It’s not a question of if, more so a question of when, will we see the world’s first trillionaire? And who will it be? Clarendon have explored the possibility of the first trillionaire, by taking the world’s 20 richest people and analysing their net growth between 2016 and 2017, by doing so they have been able to forecast which of these top earners will be the first to see a twelve figure bank balance, and which just won’t make the cut.

Of course it’s important to remember that there are a lot of variables within this research and these results only work if these people continue to grow as they are doing, but there’s no reason why some of these billionaires could soon become trillionaires! The Trillionaire Rich List

We’ve all heard of the Forbes rich list (known as the world’s billionaires list) , but will we ever see a trillionaire as rich list?

The chances are that yes we will, but who exactly will be the lucky few? We’ve estimated which of the current richest 20 people in the world are in with a Chance, by looking at how much their net worth increase from 2016 to 2017, and then applying that same increase year-on-year.

Of course, there are a whole lot of variables here, and we’re assuming that their Investments continue to grow at the same rate as they are doing, but there’s no reason why some of them couldn’t!
