- Manage the situation
Get to the root of what’s driving your bad day and do something about it.
- Pinpoint the problem. Logically examine what went wrong to make you feel this way.
- Re-evaluate the situation. Understand how the situation happened, and how serious it is on a scale of 1 – 10.
- When something goes wrong, it can cause a domino effect the rest of your day. Rethink your day and consider what’s achievable.
- Change your outlook
If you put your focus towards positivity, your negative thoughts are pushed aside.
- Think about what you’re grateful for. Put pen to paper and make a list — your bad day will soon seem like a minor issue amongst the good things in your life.
- Learn from your mistakes. Think about what usually influences your days to take a bad turn and take steps to avoid them.
- Take a clarity break. Walk away from the situation to clear your mind. Go to a coffee shop for an hour for a change of scenery.
- Fix your mood
Take a moment to do the things that make you happy.
- Find something that makes you laugh. Watch some funny YouTube videos or search Google for jokes.
- Change your routine. Doing the same thing every day can get us down. Mix things up by taking a different route to work or having something you’ve never tried for lunch.
- Talk it through with a friend. It’s always better to get your problems out in the open. Share your worries with a friend so you’re not keeping the stress locked away.
- Focus on your body
Keeping your body in shape will keep your mind in good spirit.
- Do some light exercise. Exercise stimulates endorphins, the ‘feel good’ hormone. This will help give you a natural boost of happiness.
- Breathe deeply. When feeling stressed, take 10 deep breaths to calm yourself down.
- Take a shower. Feeling fresh helps cleanse your body and mind. This gives us a more go-getting attitude to tackle the day.
