Checking in as we settle into the new year, I have some new research that might be of interest to you regarding Americans’ complicated dynamic with spending on smart technology for their homes, while harboring a growing amount of tech skepticism and even paranoia.
The survey is about security and privacy concerns when it comes to smart tech in the home. However, we also found additional stats on how much Americans are investing in staying at the forefront of home technology trends.
Despite a considerable level of skepticism, consumers are actively spending on their gadgets, averaging $792 annually, and allocating $125 monthly towards smart tech subscriptions. Interestingly, 44% of respondents express challenges affording smart home technology.
I think these insights offer a detailed understanding of how consumer behavior, technology trends, and affordability intersect.
