Snooze, Snacks And Soap Operas Are The Real Recipe For Successful Women
Do you set your alarm for 4am every morning? Do two hours of exercise before work? Eat salad for lunch and profusely refuse to snack throughout the day? No? Good –you’re on the right path to success!
OK, we’re not judging if you do those things, what we’re reiterating is the above isn’t a strict formula for success; balance is the key, not stretching yourself to breaking point.
Despite popular belief, Eventa’s study into the daily habits of successful women has highlighted snoozing, snacking and watching soaps to be among some of the favoured small pleasures regularly enjoyed by hardworking females.

Snooze
Articles revealing the secrets to success regularly document women jumping out of bed at the crack of dawn, however, 70% of those surveyed actually hit the snooze button – the average for 15 minutes – before dragging themselves out of bed.
Many also woke up at the respectable time of 7am, or later.
So next time you want five more minutes – providing it won’t make you late – go right ahead.
If you find yourself tired later in the day, you could try these tips as alternatives to falling asleep at work.
Snacks
Fruit and nuts featured amongst top snack choices; as did chocolate, cakes, crisps and sweets.
Tucking into treats was a regular pastime of around 70% of those completing the survey, with Skittles and Jaffa Cakes among irresistible choices.
Clearly, we can’t support a saturated fat-filled diet, but the odd indulgence is fine to ensure energy levels are kept up, and to keep you happy.
Soaps
Granted, participants weren’t all soap lovers, however, 75% of them did admit to watching television for at least an hour a day as a way to unwind.
Few opted for news and politics, with evening entertainment favourites including soaps, like Eastenders and Hollyoaks, as well as reality TV, including The Only Way is Essex and Made in Chelsea.
So, when you’re in need of a break from work, grab the remote, stick on Netflix and get ready to binge-watch Orange is the New Black.
Exercise and healthy eating are clearly important, but the next time you want a few more minutes in bed, or you fancy treating yourself to a cube or two of chocolate, don’t feel guilty – these successful women do it too. The rigorous routines you’re so used to reading about are the exception, not the rule.
