Find A Man Without Internet And You Will Find A Free Man
This article remains part of the Human Greed series published every year on November 17th. In previous articles, we’ve talked about the consequences of human greed and the devastation it has caused not only on the planet, but on ourselves. It has turned us into emotionless beings who, as long as we satisfy our needs and desires instantly, are willing to sacrifice our planet in order to enjoy “the little things in life.”
Each year, I reflect on this life, on the planet, on human existence, to understand where humans continue to get it wrong and why, as the only ones who remain effected, aside from all the species on this planet, are the sentient beings who work hard at preserving their own lives while essentially destroying themselves.

Earth or “dirt” or “Mother” or “Nature” as any human would call it is one of the most precious gifts to man and all living beings. It is the only planet known to support life at this current time. While there are billions of galaxies in the sky and trillions of planets, the seemingly infinite number of worlds in the universe is unparalleled to the human imagination. The brain and the universe are as connected apart as they are together.
Considering we are traveling through the universe means we are in the universe, breathing all of its gases which allows us to live. The perfect combination within our atmosphere, of the biological happenings of Earth, formed by vapor and volcanos from rock that collided together billions of years ago, and was far enough away from the sun, yet close enough, eventually with the right conditions, forming life. Just like the fish, who need oxygen to breathe, we were able to come several levels above the fish, evolving into sentient beings, and eating the very thing that we once were, over a billion years ago, sharing very similar DNA to many of the creatures on the planet.
We are always aging, trying to find love, find work, find work we like or tolerate, find work we love, find work that we don’t mind showing up enough that they pay us to be there. None of us really want to be there, do we? We would all love to be at home or out and having fun with our families or friends. Instead, we become mindless drones in front of a television or a computer, never really understanding our true reality, and never knowing our true nature.
Humans are now somewhat lost, in danger, and everyday, many go outside into the light, into the public, and risk their lives, just to be at work, so they are staying out of trouble, while making money. We are all trained in the art of doing something that gives us money. Whether it is flipping hamburgers or typing on a computer or talking on a phone, we are all human beings. Unfortunately, our reality is a mostly mindless one, in which we are simply the result of what was and is to be. We are ruled by a greedy money scam, which in return, protects us, while getting more information about us.
Every institution wants our information and specializes in getting it. From the doctor to the grocery store, we hand over our hard-earned money in the form of a credit card, never actually seeing this money, but being “debted” to it. Of course, we could always go to the bank and pull it out and have “cash” paper on hand. Either way maintains the illusion of real money that can be used to do and get things.
Since Internet does exist, we already know the results of our doom, stemming from our addiction to the Internet. Bringing a child into this world and having them learn to use technology or even see it as early as one years old, must somehow have an affect on our children’s brains. For every generation, are we getting smarter because of technology? Are we somehow evolving to make technology a part of us? Or are we all really still just monkeys who learned how to use the telephone?
If the Internet were to die out, much of our history would be wiped out, as this is the place we trust and store much of humanity’s data. If history was somehow altered, and no Internet existed, we would be a very different society. With it, however, we seem to be better off, able to communicate with each other, distribute information faster around the world, while still eyeing our virtual boxes every so often. If aliens were to attack this planet, the entire world would know about it within 24 hours. 100 years ago, if aliens were to attack this planet, only a small portion of the world would actually know it happened.
Information technology has helped beyond our own understanding. It has allowed us to speed up our lives in every way possible, to satisfy the human need for instant gratification, for which we all want and need it now. However, it has distanced us and caused a large empathy gap within all of us. We read news and articles every day, but many of us choose to do nothing about the information because we are too busy, wrapped up in our own lives, to do anything about it. Those who are passionate about a particular subject will certainly go out of their way, but for the majority, they are kept under control with a mutual bond and respect of each other and each other’s property.
In Tune Without Internet
From cutting down trees to our continued use of plastic to our billions of tons of waste that we make each year, we are likely to drown in our own garbage with no regulation or penalty in site. There is no other generation that has produced as much, if not more waste, then we have in the past decade or two. In order to understand how much waste is being produced on this Earth and to face the reality of our situation, we need exposure.
The fact that hundreds of thousands of sea animals are washing upon shore each year, most of them dead is a repercussion that all of humanity will face. The fact that eating fish nowadays is likely to result in plastic particles entering our own system should be sufficient enough for humanity to do something.
Poaching and illegal killing of animals throughout the world is rampant and a growing issue. It is as if humanity stopped caring about the very creatures it shares a planet with, and without those creatures, who exist on this Earth for a reason, the entire ecosystem will be destroyed and soon be felt by all human beings living on Earth. There is something wrong when humans believe they have any right to kill animals at all, but when the existence of those creatures is threatened, then it is far better to eliminate the life of the human than it is to allow that human to slaughter the animal.
The Internet is an abundance of information that should educate humanity enough to do something about their own home, about their own lives, about their own food, and yet, when will humans really care enough to do anything at all, as a whole, for the voters, for humans in general, to step up to their leaders, and say, “Enough is enough! We know we consume. We know we need these corporations, but together, maybe through additional corporate taxation, or holding these companies responsible for using so much waste, something good can and will happen.”
It is truly up to each individual human to realize that just because the Internet has educated humanity to understand the realities of our world, it doesn’t mean we can ignore that information or pretend that nothing is happening. The world is small on a universal scale, but large enough for each human being to want to ignore the reality that there is nothing wrong with pollution or what it is going on in the world. Do something today. Anything. Switch off the lights. Go Solar. Make sure you sort through your trash and know what can be recycled and what is actually trash that must be buried deep within the confines of the Earth, or burned otherwise.
There will be only so much time before humanity can no longer remain oblivious to its own effects on Earth.
