Find Your Personality Type In These Word Maps
Understanding the different personality types within a workforce is becoming increasingly important in the world of work, as businesses get more scientific about getting the best out of staff. One of the most popular methods of profiling people is the DiSC system, which was devised 90 years ago by William Moulton Marston, who (as well as creating Wonder Woman) came up with four dominant emotion types:
- Dominance
- Influence
- Steadiness
- Conscientiousness
Within these four types you can find all of us, and Marston broke them down into 12 personality types, depending on which of the emotions is strongest in us. For example, somebody with the ‘i’ type is a strong influencer who works well with others and is good at getting people on board with their plans, while someone with an ‘SC’ type is more analytical and can seem aloof and withdrawn, though they are great at getting the job done right.
These types aren’t for labelling who might and might not be a productive member of the team, but for understanding what combination of profiles will gel best and complement each other to achieve the business goals. Which type best describes you? Check out this infographic from On Stride Financial and find out.
