New Report Shows Where Amazon Packages Are Stolen The Most
Shorr Packaging recently released a package theft report for 2018 that provides a fresh look at the locations across the United States where Amazon packages are stolen the most. After conducting an extensive study in 2018, they are no strangers to analyzing package theft.
In the 2018 report they analyzed Google search trends in 50 of the largest cities in the US to see where Amazon package theft is concentrated the most. Data is based on search volume for “Amazon package stolen” as well as US census estimates for package theft.
There are many alarming trends in this analysis. Most notably is that package theft is rampant in major tech hubs across the United States that includes San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Seattle, Boston, Portland and Washington D.C. Many of the top cities on the list also have a high concentration of wealth, which could correlate with a larger number of packages being both ordered and stolen.
The results were also checked against results from the FBI’s national crime statistics for city-based larceny and theft rates. There was a high correlation for cities with high larceny theft rates.
