Which Degree Should You Choose To Become A Millionaire Business Leader?
There are no guarantees of success, and certainly not fortune, in this life – but looking to previous success stories can be a good form of research and source of inspiration.
With this in mind, the people at resume.io have put together a great new resource that highlights the top-earning CEO of each of America’s states, and identifies what they studied in order to get where they are today. And yes, they did all complete their studies. In fact, 67% of them went on to complete their graduate studies too.
So what did they learn? These rich CEOs mostly avoided the natural sciences, with just 2% taking those topics. Arts and humanities subjects were pursued by 9%, including self-made Las Vegas billionaire Steve Wynn, who chose English Literature. Political Science was taken by another 8%, who perhaps learned the ins and outs of corporate power dynamics in good time for making it to the top!
A whopping 22% of the richest CEOs took a degree in engineering. This empowered them not only to understand the ins and outs of how their product works, but also to improve their problem-solving skills and sense of planning and discipline.
But by far the most common choice of degree is, unsurprisingly, business. It seems some people just know they want to head to the top of the biggest firms before they even start out.
