99% of Consumers Rely on Online Reviews Before Making Purchases
In today’s digital age, consumers are bombarded with choices, making it difficult to differentiate between similar products. A new study reveals a startling statistic: nearly all (99%) American consumers rely on online reviews before making an online purchase.
- Americans spend about 18 minutes reading reviews before buying something
- 97% say reviews impact their purchasing decisions
- While 92% trust products with positive reviews, 96% believe companies can manipulate online reviews
Shoppers find reviews with specific pros, cons, and descriptions most helpful, while those with sole star ratings are considered the least valuable. On average, Americans will consider buying something with a minimum rating of 3.9 out of 5.
