Horrible Bosses. Office Space. The Wolf of Wall Street. We’ve all seen what bad bosses look like in tv/movies. And chances are, you’ve had an experience with a terrible boss or two.
To find out just what makes a bad boss bad and a good boss good, QLP surveyed 1000 U.S. professionals.
Key findings:
- 2 in 3 employees say their relationship with their boss is their most important one at work.
- 6 in 10 employees prefer a pleasant boss to a competent one.
- Employees say fair treatment, clear communication, and fostering a supportive team environment make the best bosses.
- The three worst things bad bosses do: 1. Talk down to employees 2. Communicate poorly 3. Micromanage.
