Your Feet Carry You Wherever You Want To Go
Most people underestimate how much their feet get them through the day until the end of the day, when their feet are sore, their legs are aching, their back is hurting them, and they feel physically exhausted. People in construction, retail, and the food service industry are the most prone to feeling these issues, not realizing that a few changes might make all the difference in their lives, and they could actually stand on their feet for the entire day without experiencing much pain. The change is small, but required some research, trial, and error.
I was victim to sore feet, though in recent years, I have had a few comfy desk jobs, which still ended up with sore feet, in which it was better for me to just take off my shoes at my desk and go without them. Little did I know, the fact that the outside of my shoes looked new, but the insides were completely worn out and without any soles to support my legs, feet, and back. While it looked like I was wearing shoes, the feeling was that I was walking around bare foot throughout the day. I looked forward to coming home, taking off my shoes, and being without. I would have to rub my own feet for at least an hour and soak them in warm water in order to have some ease of pain.
While I had known it was all about the shoes, especially when I had adopted the New Balance brand for quite a few years in my life, even that had once subsided and was unable to do wonders for me anymore. It was not the shoes themselves, but the insides that eventually wore out. It seemed that the only time having support for my body weight on my feet was when I bought new shoes. After about a month or two, the support was gone, and I was left to suffer with the aches and pains placed upon my feet.
I had very little knowledge about what I actually needed: Insoles. My girlfriend had let me know at the time that my shoes were basically worn out and suggested a variety of brands, specifically Dr. Scholls. Though I had opted for less cheaper brands and still do at times, I have discovered the joys of walking on clouds, walking on water, walking in pillows. Occasionally, I will have to add two insoles for support to my feet, but have found that it does help and I am able to stand on my feet, walk for miles, and go for hikes without any issues during my exercise or at the end of the day.
Walmart is one of the stores that offers Dr. Scholls, complete with a machine to tell you where you put most of your weight: the arches of your feet, the balls, or the heels. By understanding this “number” that the Dr. Scholls machine assigns, you can better understand your feet and where most of your weight goes on your feet.
I cannot imagine how many people who suffer in pain, not realizing that a small change in their life, that may cost them no more than $50, can really help out, and prevent them from using prescription drugs to deal with the pain. The lesson is that you must be good to your feet and your feet will be good to your entire body. This does not exempt anyone from a good foot massage, a relaxation foot bath, or even some massage oils and creams – even for men who should adopt the practice of rubbing their feet, or having a significant other rub their feet, while also returning the favor.
My recommendation is that anyone who is experiencing pain in their feet, back, or legs need to experience the beauty of insoles and make that one change in their life for the better. It may take some searching around and Dr. Scholls may not be for you, but there are many companies that specialize in foot care, for all types of activity throughout the day.
Aside from the comfort and support of insoles, socks are often underrated and most people overlook them as support and comfort for the feet. The comfort of socks go a long way for your feet, and having some type of cotton material sock that supports your feet may help in addition to the insoles.
Search around and stop suffering through the pain. There is a cure for you that does not involve medicine or even new shoes, but insoles that allow for comfort and were made just for you.
