There is a lot of demand for healthcare workers in the country and many jobs you can do if you want to work in this field. It is important to know what career options exist so that you can make an informed decision when choosing a job path. These occupations should be researched further before making any decisions, but they are all worth considering. The following list should help you decide what type of job might be right for you:
Physician Assistant
This is a great job for someone who wants to work and live in the healthcare industry but does not necessarily want to be an MD. A physician assistant’s responsibilities include:
• Taking medical histories and records from patients. This is usually done in an exam room, but sometimes the PA will need to gather information over the phone or via email.
• Conducting physical examinations. The PA will conduct full exams on people who are ill or injured under the direction of its supervising doctor. They can also perform routine annual screenings with healthy patients if needed.
• Diagnosing diseases and injuries through examination findings, lab results analysis, x-rays, MRIs, etc. A physician assistant needs to be able to identify abnormalities that require further testing before diagnosing them, as well as understand what normal test results look like so that they don’t miss anything important due to false negative or positive
RN Nurse Practitioner
This is also another good option if you do not wish to become an RN or MD. If your passion lies with working as part of a health care team, this might be the best choice for you. An RN is important because they can work under a physician to provide care for patients. You can also expand your horizons as a nurse entrepreneur and improve your living standards. RN duties include:
• Taking medical histories and records from their patients. This is usually done in an exam room, but sometimes the NPS will need to gather information over the phone or via email.
• Conducting physical examinations on people who are ill or injured. The NP needs to perform full exams, which may require them to have some knowledge of pharmacology so they can accurately assess what medications should be given before prescribing any drugs themselves according to physicians’ orders.
• Diagnosing diseases and injuries through examination findings, lab results analysis, x-rays, etc., just like PAs do with their supervising doctors; however, it’s that all RNs understand normal test results so that they don’t miss anything important due to false negative or positive.
Dental Hygienist
If you like explaining things and helping people feel better about their teeth, then this could be the right career path for you. You will need some previous experience before getting into dental hygiene school; however, it can potentially lead to high earnings once employed by a dentist’s office. A dental hygienist is vital since they are the first line of defense against gum disease, cavities, and other oral conditions. They will also teach patients how to improve their dental health through proper hygiene practices at home that can prevent these problems in the future.
Physical Therapist Assistant
PTAs spend most of their time helping people move around who have been injured or suffer from disabilities. It can be quite rewarding work for those who are interested in making sure others lead an active lifestyle again after suffering injuries or accidents that prevent them from living life as they used to know it. PTAs also typically go through training programs at technical schools, colleges, universities, and trade schools just like any other profession would do, so having some previous experience may help your application process run more smoothly too. A Physical Therapist Assistant’s responsibilities include:
• The PTAs take measurements of their patients such as height, weight, and blood pressure to assess how healthy they are. They also need to check reflexes and motor skills in order to evaluate the patient’s mobility. Afterward, they will set up a treatment plan for each individual according to these findings and their physician’s orders.
• If needed, PTAs may provide physical therapy treatments directly too by exercising or stretching certain muscles that have been injured when following physicians’ instructions. Sometimes this can be done at home with equipment provided if it is safe enough for them to do so on their own; however, most often times this will happen at hospitals or clinics where other professionals can help assist you during your session, such as nurses who monitor heart rates, etc.,
Sonographer Physical Therapist Assistant
This is a unique sounding option for those who want to help people heal and feel better but don’t wish to work directly with patients. It might be a good idea if you have an interest in working behind the scenes of a hospital or clinic because you will typically need some previous experience before being able to get into this line of work too. You can expect duties such as:
• Operating diagnostic imaging equipment that helps physicians diagnose injuries, tumors, etc., from inside the human body by creating images that are very detailed, so diagnosis is accurate. Sonographers perform ultrasounds on pregnant women during their pregnancies, too, in order to monitor fetal development in real-time within the womb. This allows doctors to catch potentially dangerous situations early enough when needed most.
Conclusion
There are many ways to help people who need your assistance in the medical field. The above list is just a few suggestions you might want to investigate further if you love helping others feel better and get healthy again after suffering life-damaging injuries or various types of diseases, problems, etc.
