Counting Calories Not Working For You? You Are Doing It Wrong!
The following article is not meant to offend you, but only influence you to do something about your lifestyle. This article was not written with any intention to fat or obese shame. You may get offended by some of this material, but you can continue to live your life the way you want, or you can do something about it. This article is meant to motivate you to do something about your current lifestyle. My words may seem harsh and you may not agree with me, but the truth is never easy to handle, and tough love usually always leads to good things.
Most people do not believe it, but counting calories actually does work. I have been counting calories for years, using an application called LoseIt!. It has helped me keep an eye on my calorie consumption and how many calories I burn per day, but more specifically made me be consciously aware of what I have been eating. It is far better than physically writing what I ate down on a piece of paper, because it tells me not only the calories, but the amount of protein, carbs, fats, sugars, and fiber in many food products.
The fact is simple: You need to burn more than you take in. Calories in versus Calories out. Most “experts” recommend a 2000 calorie diet. I’m going to say No to that. I hate to discredit the “experts”, but they have been telling the United States what to eat for over 50 years and look at the health of America – where the majority of people’s greatest threat of dying – is from their own hearts. There is a greater chance that your heart is going to murder you than of you dying in any other way.
Good job “experts”. Maybe its time we all stopped listening to “experts” and started doing what we know is right. Listen to people who know what they are actually talking about. You are what you eat and if all you do is eat garbage, than that is what your body will be. Unfortunately, your body cannot function using garbage.
I am not 50 years old so I didn’t have as much time to “research” food as long as they have. If the government were to pay me instead of the “experts” all the money they had for the research they did, the entire American population would be healthy, skinny, and living until they were probably close to a hundred years old.
In just ten years of actively knowing and learning about different foods and being aware of those foods that are edible and those that are really not, I have done more research effectively with food on my own body – taking many pills, eating a lot of junk, trying different food diets, and I have come to the conclusion: It is all bullshit. What works? Real food and portion controls help you lose weight.
Why is it so hard for everyone to figure it out? Our ancestors had no problem. Sure, they only lived until they were about 30 – 50 years old, but they were more likely to be eaten by a tiger, or poisoned by a snake, or an unsanitary disease, than die from heart disease, brought on by obesity. I trust their diets more than I do for any “expert” telling us what to eat.
If you want to go ahead and believe what the “experts” are telling you, keep doing what you are doing if it is working for you. After all, the “experts” know your body better than you, right? The truth about calories is: We eat way too many. We have too many just sitting around. Walk into a supermarket and stop seeing food. Start seeing calories. Billions of calories are everywhere.
If you lived in the 80s and 90s, you have a clue as to what people looked like then. Even in 2000, people were slightly overweight, but still okay, though many were starting to worry about those second chins that everyone seemed to have. Today, however, people are just full-blown obese, fat, or overweight. Sure, there are still the lucky few who eat whatever they want and don’t get fat, but for some reason — and I hate to say this – obesity became acceptable. Bypass surgery and stomach stapling became acceptable and “quick methods” of unhealthy unnatural weight loss.
I know some of you will argue with me, and I will say this: It is okay for people to be chubby, husky, or overweight. There are plenty of people who look good having a few extra pounds, and there is nothing wrong with it. But our bodies were not designed to be more than 250 pounds maximum for men, and women should never even know beyond 160 – 180 pounds.
It is NOT okay for people to be on their Rascals at 300, 400, or 500 pounds and then you realize they are only in their 20s, 30s, or 40s, and not even 50s yet. Who allowed that to happen? People who are severely disabled or handicapped are certainly excused. Sure, we can blame them individually, but since the “experts” were telling people what to eat, they are partially the ones to blame for the problems in today’s society.
Yet I ask you to tell me this — When I make a mistake at work, I risk being fired. My company is sometimes forgiving and may grant me a second, third, and maybe even a fourth chance. Of course, I have to make up for it by doing extra work, but that is far better than losing my job. However, I have never caused a single death from a mistake that I have made at work.
The “experts” are responsible for causing millions of deaths per year. Who got fired? Go on and tell me. I’ll wait.
That’s what I thought. No one is responsible. No government agency. Not the Food and Drug Administration. Not a single doctor is being held responsible. Immunity from any wrongdoings. Must be good to be an “expert” in the United States.
So, I won’t call myself an “expert”, but I do have some good information that will work for you. I won’t force any of my information on you. You are free to use it, take it, do whatever you like. After being overweight since I was a child, and struggling every day of my life for almost 30 years, I have finally figured out the secret to losing weight and using my own methods and I am sharing them with you.
Believe me or not, if you are reading this, you have obviously tried just about everything and nothing has worked for you. Maybe you have just given up and accepted that you are meant to be overweight and fat for your entire life. I had almost gotten to that point, but I have never been a “healthy weight”, and it is something I have been striving to know my entire life, so I will not give up. Now you are here to try this. I think you may find it does work because I do not advocate a single “miracle pill” to you.
The only pill I recommend: Get yourself a powerful Multivitamin so that you can get all the nutrients you need. You will not get it from every food I tell you to eat or from every food you choose to eat. The vitamin will make sure you get that extra kick of nutrition. There are companies that make vitamins for athletes and those are the ones I recommend since you are not going to be eating as much and will still need to get the energy from somewhere.
So, this is your new lifestyle and calorie count from now on that you need to live by, abide by, and follow. However: I advise you that you NEVER go below 1000 calories because you will not be able to function correctly. Never starve yourself and never go hungry. Your body and your brain need energy. I DO NOT advocate anorexia or bulimia as those are very dangerous to your health.
You want to get healthy and comfortable with your body, right? Because anorexia and bulimia will make you skinny, a corpse, in a casket, and you will definitely have lost your weight, but you will not be able to enjoy your new weight loss.
Men:
- Minimum: 1200-1400
- Average: 1500-1700
- Maximum: 1800-2000
Women:
- Minimum: 1000-1200
- Average: 1200-1500
- Maximum: 1700-200
These numbers may seem low, but if you eat the right foods, you will never be hungry. The reason the “experts” tell you to eat more is because simple carbohydrates make you hungry. Those carbohydrates are business worth billions of dollars a year.
The “experts” recommend that you eat between 200 to 300 carbohydrates a day. Go ahead and take that advice if it has been helping you to lose weight, though it has probably only made you gain weight. Your fat and protein should be more balanced. By the end of the day, you should be eating about 50 to 65 grams of good fat, 80 to 120 grams of carbohydrates, and 40 to 100 grams of protein.
Technically, you can eat as much protein and good fat as you want. Carbohydrates should not be shunned because you still need those, especially complex carbohydrates from vegetables and fruits, but more simple carbohydrates from pasta, candy, and breads can be reduced to virtually zero.
You can get away with eating 1000-1200 and snacking on Almonds to ensure you do not get headaches or feel like you are starving.
You can eat those calories however you want, though you should eat at least two to three times per day.
3 times:
Men: About 600 calories at each meal
Women: About 500 calories at each meal
6 times:
Men: About 300 calories at each meal
Women: About 250 calories at each meal
You cannot eat whatever calories you want. A Snickers Bar and a large cup of oatmeal have around the same amount of calories, but they are not the same calories. The Snickers bar has only sugar, while the oatmeal has oats, grains, vitamins, and nutrients that your body can use for various functions.
Your new diet system:
- High Fat (mostly Omega-3 and Omega-9)
- Moderate Protein (protein shakes, chicken, and fish — if you cannot give up red meat, than eat it only once a week)
- Low to Medium Carb (vegetables and fruits) (Never go over 120 carbohydrates per day)
You need to reduce your sodium levels because sodium retains water and makes you look bloated and adds unnecessary pounds to the scale, making you think you are fatter than you actually are and causing you serious mental issues. Fatty. I’m kidding, but in all seriousness, lay off the sodium. The “experts” recommend no more than 2400mg a day.
That is way too much! Try to stay under 1000mg of sodium per day.
You also need to reduce your sugar intake. Excess sugar gets stored as fat and causes you to be fat. No more energy drinks! While I would advise against eating wheat or anything that represents bread, if you cannot give up bread or need to ween off of it, I suggest 12 multi-grain oat, not Whole Wheat, as you have been falsely led to believe that it is actually healthy. 12 multi-grain oat is slightly more expensive, but healthier.
And lastly, something you will hate to give up: Milk.
Yeah, I know. Milk is good for you. They were advertising that on television throughout my childhood, “Milk, it does a body good” with plenty of celebrity endorsements! But the unfortunate fact is, they turned it into a big business, added tons of sugar and hormones to it, abuse too many cows to produce too much milk for too many people, and its just better to boycott milk and learn to live without it. I won’t even tell you the statistics for how much milk spoils each year. Lets just say, people do drink milk, but it has a very short shelf life, and its the one thing they cannot extend the life on, as there are already too many hormones in it, and they cannot add preservatives the way they do with many other foods.
Opt for Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk or Unsweetened Cashew Milk which contains only 25 to 30 calories per cup.
This is a new journey for you, but you need to begin by eliminating all the crap you are so used to eating. Believe me, I wish we lived in a world where all this crap we eat was good for us, but the reality is, it’s not, it’s making us fat, killing our hearts, and cutting our lives short.
No one is going to tell us the right information or change anything. Food. Health. Death. All big business worth billions of dollars a year. We live in a world that is run by greedy corporations and a corrupt government. If you want to live, you must do all things healthy for yourself.
