A Healthy Sex Life Needs Healthy Foods
As life stresses continue to pile on, whether it be from the workplace, family life and kids, or something else, but unfortunately, many people are not having as much sex as they would like. How much happier we’d all be if sex were added just a few more times a month to our lives. When we first meet our loved one, our boyfriend, or girlfriend, sex is something we cannot stop thinking about. From the moment we get together, and we are out on our date, to the next moment when we are alone, wanting to take our clothes off of each other and rub against each other naked. Then one day, it seems to slow down or stop completely.
It also never helps that you and your partner deal with different stresses everyday, leading one of you to be in the mood, while the other may not be, and vice versa, and by the time you are both in the mood, a monthly visitor decides to come in and ruin everything, though some couples look past this, and enjoy sex anyway. Some couples like it at different times, whereas he may be in the mood at night because he is nocturnal, while she wants it in the morning because she is a morning person. Regardless, the timing hardly ever seems right, and there is a struggle to find time for what so easily used to come naturally, whether you and your partner had time or not.
When it comes to sex, many of us might blame our everyday lives, but hormonal imbalances and blood flow do play a role too. While these foods may be considered aphrodisiacs, in which some doctors and theorists would claim that aphrodisiacs are not real, the truth is in the science, in which foods that help with blood flow, antioxidants, and organic unprocessed natural foods that provide energy will most likely increase sexual libido.
When it comes to sexual libido, however, both partners must be into each other, respecting each other’s needs and sexual desires. Nothing turns off a woman more than a man who does not take the time to satisfy her needs in the bedroom, just as nothing turns a man off more than a woman who acts like sex is a chore, and turns it into a job, especially, instead of working together to make sex enjoyable, she may make him do all the “work”. If this is the case, no amount of aphrodisiac food is going to help your sexual lives. You both must commit to pleasuring each other in the bedroom and make each other a priority during this intimate time together.
Aside from exercising and getting into better shape, which is guaranteed to boost energy and sex drive. Your significant other should also be on board as it takes two to really make the passion of sex happen. No matter how much food you eat, no matter what medicine you take, if but these are just some foods I have found useful in aiding sex drive.
The Maca Fruit or Maca Powder: Maca is a fruit that is native to Peru, consumed by our ancient ancestors, and only grows in this specific region at high altitudes. The fruit is extremely rare to find for sale in almost every part of the world, but several companies do operate in the regions where this fruit is grown and process it into powder, while still keeping all its natural ingredients, and selling it around the world.
Mixing the powder with a protein shake or a milk shake in general, while sticking to a healthy regime of exercise and good eating, this plant, or powder, is known for its vitality and energy boosting effects. Along with this energy comes sexual cravings and desires. In reading many reviews online, there are just rumors that it does boost that sexual energy, but from personal experience, give or take a week or two for your body to fully absorb the nutrition of this fruit, you will probably get really horny.
Garlic: Skip the bad breath and buy some odorless garlic pills to take every morning. While this does not directly get you in the mood, it will thin your blood flow, helping the circulation of the blood to and through the heart, the brain, the entire body, and the sexual organs, and considering blood helps carry oxygen and carbon dioxide to where it needs to be, the information that travels through the brain, spine, and other parts of the body gets to where it needs to go faster, possibly resulting in sexual desires and thoughts.
Watermelon: Seedless watermelon is probably more of a delight than having to pick out all the seeds, especially if you dare take this food into the bedroom. The natural microingredients, lycopene, citrulline, and beta-carotene all help with blood vessel circulation and considering that the watermelon is mostly water and natural sugar, it is likely to boost your energy levels in the right direction.
Pomegranate: My most favorite fruit in the world, the pomegranate likely originated in northern Iran and India, and is one of the most popular fruits in Israel. This fruit is complex, requiring some slight work to scoop out the edible seeds and juice, tasting sweet and tart at the same time, but it provides a deliciousness that matches no other fruit. The pomegranate is extremely high in antioxidants, nitric oxide, and water content which all help improve blood vessels and blood circulation throughout the body. As this fruit can stain everything it touches to red, it should probably be consumed in the kitchen and not the bedroom, unless you have some sheets you do not mind staining.
Coffee: While I am not a coffee drinker, this may or may not help with sexual cravings and desires. The caffeine in coffee is a stimulant to boost energy and metabolism, and may drive sexual energy as well. The upside is that coffee in moderation is definitely healthy for your body, but too much of anything can negatively effect your hormones and sexual performance and libido.
Dark Chocolate: Chocolate and wine. Not only does dark chocolate contain natural antioxidants and flavonoids, which boost the immune system, protect the heart, and may prevent breast cancer, dark chocolate is sweet and contains sugar which boosts metabolism and energy levels. The chemical in dark chocolate is phenylethylamine, which provide feelings of warmness, euphoria, and happiness, which may certainly lead those feelings straight to the bedroom.
Wine: Wine and chocolate. Chocolate and wine. Both work, don’t they? Red wine, specifically. Wine contains alcohol. Alcohol raises testosterone levels in men and women, which can cause an increase in sexual desire and libido. Wine relaxes both partners and provides feelings of loving warmness and lowering inhibitions which may lead to bedroom activity. Over-consumption, however, may lead to falling asleep. A glass of red wine a few times a week is great drink of choice to relax and because it contains antioxidants and resveratrol, which improve the functions and blood flow of the heart.
Seedless Grapes: Some similar to the properties of wine, in matters of the heart, this food is small, portable, sweet, and plentiful. It makes for an excellent snack before, after, or during sex, and sharing is caring and intimate, as you feed each other. Not much of a mess and leaves no one with bad breath.
Avocados: High in fats, rich in vitamin E, and antioxidants, this is another favorite fruit of mine that the heart loves. This is one of the best fruits you can eat that improves blood flow and helps with weight loss if eaten in moderation. Weight loss leads to improved confidence, which leads to feeling sexy, which leads to feeling sexual, which leads to sex. Love the avocado. Eat the avocado. Experience the benefits of the avocado.
Bananas: The favorite fruit of most primate monkey and ape species including humans, the banana contains a hefty amount of vitamin B and potassium, tryptophan which is used to help produce serotonin, and an enzyme called bromelain, which improve blood flow and sexual energy.
Coconuts, coconut water, and coconut oil: Similar to the banana, high in natural vitamins, higher in potassium, high in antioxidants, and water content, coconuts, coconut water, and coconut oil increase blood flow. Coconut oil itself is high in fat, which is good for the heart, and may help aid in weight loss. Nature’s filtered water fruit was meant to increase energy, sexual desire, and happiness.
Eggs: While not directly linked to sexual libido, this is the most basic food that contains all life-sustaining ingredients, especially protein, high in vitamin B6, and may help to reduce stress levels. The egg is very easy to make and can be scrambled, poached, hard boiled, raw, etc. Any way it is consumed will give you the energy you need to get through your day, and hopefully use that energy in the bedroom at night.
Almonds: My favorite of all the nuts, almonds are extremely high in antioxidants, high in fat oils, vitamin E, zinc, and selenium, amazing for the heart, increase blood flow, and energy, and they taste great too.
Strawberries, Blueberries, Blackberries, Raspberries, and Cherries: Small, portable, easy to eat, sweet, sugary, low-calories, high-energy, fulfilling, little-to-no-mess sexy bite-sized snacks. Individually, or altogether, these fruits are amazing to spice up a sex life, and can even be used in the bedroom in combination with whipped cream. All of these fruits are considered superfoods, packed with nutrient-dense vitamin C and antioxidants that are artery-opening, blood vessel-expanding, blood flow-improving, and heart-defensive nutrients. These are fun to share with your partner and are sure to boost your energy levels, sexual energy, and sexual libido.
The whole concept of eating a food and being in the mood or ready for sex immediately afterwards is probably a myth. There are many factors to take into consideration when wanting and desiring to have sex. Learning how to balance family life, work life, and sex life is not always easy, but finding, planning, and prioritizing sex to make it to the middle or top of the list of things to do, instead of the bottom, will help the couple find the desire to want and have more sex. Unfortunately, as our relationships progress, spontaneous sex is fun and exciting when it happens, but if you wait for every sexual encounter to be spontaneous, sex will probably not happen more than once or twice a month, so plan a night together for sex. Not only does the want and need for sex come from within, but from the desires of your partner as well. Sex is far easier to make happen when the couple agrees to make the time to prioritize sex with each other. Otherwise, one side planning for sex and sex not happening always leads to disappointment and frustration.
Although these foods were designed by the Earth to be as natural as can be and work well for the human body, they will instantly cure a lack of sexual desire or libido, but they will assist and help bring you and your partner to a healthier eating lifestyle, and a healthier diet which will lead to a healthy body. A healthy human body combined with a healthy mind and a healthy attitude, especially towards sex, will lead to increased sexual desire, sexual libido, and more sex.
