It is likely that it has been harder to go about your normal activities and daily routine during quarantine. Adjusting to the current situation has affected everyone to varying extents and there are certain activities and places that you are unable to attend. However, shopping is something that you can’t afford to miss out on. Let us take a very close look at five shopping tricks that your family should try during quarantine.
1. Senior hours
To start things off, senior hours are a great way to shop if you are eligible. Many stores feature senior hours where only individuals above a certain age are allowed into the store. This leads to a safer environment to shop in. If you qualify for senior hours, you might as well take advantage of this time window. You won’t have to deal with the hustle and bustle of the regular store hours and you will feel more comfortable. There is a good chance that many people in the store will be wearing a mask which can make you feel better. While seniors can definitely shop at regular hours if they choose, this is the best alternative.
2. Off peak hours
Off peak hours are another time frame where it is ideal to shop. These hours differ depending on the store. Some stores are empty in the morning when people are still sleeping while others are empty around noon when employees are at work. Notice trends in your favorite stores and when they are busiest. Then, plan your shopping schedule around these hours, aiming to go at off peak hours instead. In the best case scenario, the store can be less than half as full as it is during peak hours. As we all know, health organizations recommend that we stay at least six feet apart at all times. Empty stores are great for social distancing. The closest you will come to anyone else is likely at the checkout line.
3. Online shopping
Online shopping is an amazing approach that is very popular in this day and age. As long as you have a computer and a strong internet connection, you can do all of your shopping from the comfort of your home. In addition, there are so many great options for payment and shipping. If you live in a different country from the manufacturer, you can still have the item shipped to your doorstep. For example, you might use a US shipping address for Canada so that you don’t have to pay hefty prices for shipping. Moreover, it is very easy to apply discount codes upon checkout. Online shopping offers more items at potentially better prices, so it is never a bad idea to browse this selection.
4. Coupons
As mentioned above, coupons should always be on your watchlist. Coupons can save you a serious amount of money when you checkout, and during quarantine, every penny counts. First, take a look at your grocery list for the upcoming week. With a little bit of research, you can acquire coupons that you can redeem at checkout. Even better, combine coupons with other promotional codes for unmatched savings at your favorite stores. During COVID-19, many retailers are offering discounts for their loyal customers. Keep your eye out for discounts that can pop up seemingly at random.
5. Grocery delivery
Last but not least, grocery delivery is a terrific idea. During COVID-19, you probably don’t want to be wandering around a busy shopping mall. As experts suggest, it is best to stay at home until this ordeal concludes. Grocery delivery is similar to online shopping except that it is more applicable to supermarkets. In essence, you hand your grocery list over to someone who will do the shopping for you. They might be an individual who is at a lower risk of infection. They will deliver the groceries to your doorstep, and all the payments are taken care of behind the scenes.
These are just a couple of shopping tricks that your family should try during quarantine. With a smart approach, you can continue shopping almost as normal. Don’t let quarantine drag your shopping habits down.
