It takes more than a virus to stop Americans from achieving their dreams, with millions of new companies being launched over the last year. But which state is home to the people with the most entrepreneurial spirit, and can claim to be at the top of the list?
To find out, Rovva looked into Google Trends data, analysing how many people searched the term “How to start a business.”
They also delved into an official data report from the US Census, analysing five years of regional business launch data, to see which states actually created the most businesses per capita.
Using this in depth data, Rovva then cross referenced the results to find America’s most entrepreneurial state.
Key findings:
Wyoming is the best for new business creation per capita.
West Virginia had the least new businesses formed per capita.
Wyoming also saw the biggest increase in Google searches for “How to start a business” over the last year.
In second place is Alaska with a 79% increase in Google searches
