While the vast majority, about a billion or two humans remain in their homes, giving the Earth a chance to recycle and refresh itself, because in the New World Order, less of us go out to give our Mother a chance to breathe and repair herself. I’m kidding. We’re humans and we don’t do that kind of shit. We’re actually under quarantine, meaning we must isolate ourselves in our homes for up to two weeks or longer, and so far, it has been almost two months because of the CCP virus, or COVID-19, which requires that before you go into any public place, you should probably be wearing a facial mask to cover your respiratory system, or otherwise, block the virus from being able to enter your airways via droplets in our breath.
As we sit in our homes, some of us are entrepreneurs, which means you’re already hard at work still making money. With the link I shared above to the facial masks, my wife is making them for $9.00 on Etsy. After the sale is done, and Etsy takes their fees, along with the Shipping costs, my wife makes about $3.00 per mask which helps to buy more supplies. My wife is not in this for the profit, but to help make and send masks to help prevent the spread of the disease. These masks are not medical and therefore are much better than nothing, but should not be worn in the line of battle, or otherwise, if you are a nurse or a doctor or a surgeon, you might wear this face mask to the grocery store, but not to work or any hospital. Please consider covering your face when you go into stores to help spread the disease.
The rest of everyone who is not an entrepreneur might just be sitting around doing nothing or teaching their children or just watching Netflix or Disney+ all the live long day. This is an event that is likely to happen again in our lifetimes, but fortunately, we will be more prepared for it, and it will likely be less extreme, as we learn to not shut our economy down when deadly viruses are upon us. For example, we could probaby just adapt a measure of opening up everything again, but keeping the social distance measures in place, meaning restaurants may have open and be less packed at first, six-feet distance within stores, as they set one-way aisles that might seem like an inconvienance but are there to protect everyone.
The virus is deadly and will kill the most vulnerable in our society. This means that 80- and 90- year olds as well as those with pre-existing conditions will have a greater fight within them and they may not live to see another day. It is unfortunate and many people have already been lost. I have personally been affected (not infected) including finding out Uncle’s mother-in-law, or a woman who was, for a time in my life, like my grandmother has passed away from COVID-19 and my father who has come into contact with someone who has flu-like symptoms and was later diagnosed as positive. As the virus gets closer to you, the rumors are far less. There are still a few people who deny that the virus even exists, but having someone pass away due to the virus hits home very hard, and millions of people are affected because of it.
“Boredom” is probably a word you are thinking often or maybe you are hearing it from your children. If you’re anything like me, you’re bored yet creative side takes over, and you just build things. For example, I am almost done with my second project in quarantine, though both are still awaiting approval from WordPress. Rewind WP will rewind your website so you can set it up as a demo website and have people interact with the website, while saving no changes at all once a set duration of time has passed. My second project, just started over the weekend, is WP Daily Backup which will make a backup of your webiste everyday. Both are still incomplete as they wait for approval and still undergoing some beta testing, but feel free to sign up.
To access my creative side, I must pull up my vices, and they are not as bad as some others. I am pretty sure some people are spending their time in quarantine drinking six-packs of beer, smoking a few packs of cigarettes a day, and then there are some people who find themselves bored and staring into the refrigerator, looking for something to “take away the boredom” or add more unnecessary calories into the diet, as if they don’t already know what they bought and loaded into that fridge. Surprise! There’s the Entenmann’s Donuts you bought last week! While I am not guilty of it, I am guilty of the one thing I am allowed to have because it is medicine, and considering it is 4/20 today, I can only say to you that I stocked up well enough to have a great day in quarantine. Although I will be consuming them much later, as I still have to work, but here is my vice:
It was expensive for the 12 packages of brownies, and I normally do not buy so many or spend so much on weed every month, but while in quarantine for the past few months, I would rather be high and feeling good than facing the reality of the new world that has been released upon us. One brownie is around 200 mg sold by a dispensary that has a nice partnership with a nearby bakery, making it awesome to be able to buy products outside of what all the cannabis agencies retail. And so, that is my biggest vice while in quarantine. While I normally get high about two or three times a week, I have technically been high just about everyday. And why not? Am I bothering you? It is bothering you? I shouldn’t. And that is my main argument for marijuana legalization.
Some of you are drinking alcohol, some of you are smoking cigarettes, others of you are eating your delicious snacks, and then there are other types of drug users too, not just cannabis users, who are not bothering anyone, but when it comes to cannabis, one of the least dangerous drugs on the market. Don’t get me wrong. Marijuana has torn families apart due to someone choosing to “not care” and just wanting to be high all day. Yes, those people do exist. But that is a very small percentage of people. The rest of us are actually highly functional pot heads. Don’t judge me based on my vice because you know you have many of them too. Some of which are probably worse than mine!
For the quarantine, I am at home, supposedly in a judgemental-free zone, save for my wife, who made a comment that I am getting high too much. Is there such a thing? Should I stay sober and sane enough to listen to her rants? Being high surely makes for a better conversation and dicussion, even if she’s not always ready for those discussions!
Happy 4/20 everyone! Also known as Weed Day!
