Wedding season is here! That means engagement parties, bridal showers, bachelor and bachelorette trips… and of course the big day. All of that adds up to big bucks for friends and family.
I wanted to send you this report about how Americans are feeling when it comes to parties this year and hint: it’s all getting a little too expensive. According to the survey, nearly 1 in 4 Americans are going to fewer parties in 2023 due to cost. As for those nuptials:
- 82% feel events leading up to weddings are too expensive
- Despite rising costs, 93% say wedding guests shouldn’t pay for food
But what about those people who RSVP yes and then don’t come? 45% believe those guests should pay for their food. And don’t forget about the guests with special food requirements. 66% believe hosts should always ask about dietary restrictions and 62% believe hosts should always have food for people who are vegan and vegetarian.
Take a look at the study which has more on the tackiest party moves… (talking to you drunk uncle) and other ways people are scaling back this year due to inflation.
