Success doesn’t always look like a corporate job where you’re sitting in a cubicle all day. There are plenty of well-paying jobs out there that allow you to travel and see new places. If the idea of sitting in an office for work sounds unbearable, check out these five driving jobs that allow you to travel and experience something new each day.
Work for a Rideshare Company
Companies like Uber and Lyft make it easy for drivers to earn money. Becoming a driver for these companies is pretty simple, but there are a few requirements you and your vehicle must meet. As long as you meet their standards and send in the required documents, you will be able to earn money from driving in no time.
Drive a Taxi
If you live in the city, taxi driving can be a very lucrative and busy career. Each city has its own set of requirements for becoming a taxi driver, so you will need to research that before proceeding with this career option. Most cities do not require formal education like a college degree, but you may have to take training courses to be allowed to drive a taxi in your area. You will have to pass tests, obtain proper documents and certifications, and most importantly, purchase a taxi car. Alternatively, you could get hired by a taxi company to gain experience before branching out on your own.
Earn Your CDL License
Getting your CDL license is the first step to take if you want to drive a tractor-trailer. Tractor-trailer trucks are used by companies to deliver goods regionally and internationally. Depending on which company you work for, you may get to drive your truck to places you’ve never seen before. If you don’t mind being away from home often, this may be a good driving career for you.
Deliver Food
Whether you work as a delivery driver for a local restaurant or sign up with a company like DoorDash, delivering food is a fun, easy driving job that allows you to earn tips. The hardest part of this job is not gobbling up all the delicious goodies you’ll be delivering.
Become a Personal Chauffeur
Upper-class and wealthy people often hire personal chauffeurs to drive them. While the other driving jobs mentioned here are typically laid-back and casual, being a personal chauffeur can be formal and upscale. You may need to invest in a nice wardrobe and learn the rules and etiquette required for the job. If you are able to land a position as a chauffeur, you can expect a nice paycheck each month along with other perks.
Driving jobs can be great career moves with lots of flexibility and high earning potential. If working on the road sounds like your dream job, you can apply for any of these five positions to find the driving job that’s best for you.
