Diversity & Culture In The Workplace
Over the last few years, we have seen an increase in campaigns for gender equality on mainstream media and social media. Among the advocacies being pushed is to close the gender gap in the workplace by treating men and women on equal footing. To achieve this goal, companies have to create work opportunities, which used to be gender-specific, available to anyone regardless of their sexual orientation.
At the same time, there are also growing efforts to promote diversity in the workplace. This means breaking down barriers related to ones’ race, background, or experiences. Diversity is important, so there is no limit to employees’ chances for employment or promotion in the workplace.
However, even with the media’s massive awareness programs and support for workplace equality and diversity, companies and their recruitment firm have to make impactful resolutions on their end. As part of the HR community, you’ll need to be more proactive in establishing a workplace culture that could really make equality and diversity happen. From policy-making to supporting employees’ rights, your HR team needs to be there every step of the way.
The accompanying infographic offers ideas about the subject from different perspectives, including how you could make your office space more conducive for employees with special needs or concerns. The infographic also teems with facts and statistics about the global workforce’s take on equality and diversity in corporate settings.
