Over the last few years, we have seen an increase in campaigns for gender equality on mainstream media and social media. Among the advocacies being pushed is to close the gender gap in the workplace by treating men and women on equal footing. To achieve this goal, companies have to create work opportunities, which used to be gender-specific, available to anyone regardless of their sexual orientation.
At the same time, there are also growing efforts to promote diversity in the workplace. This means breaking down barriers related to ones’ race, background, or experiences. Diversity is important, so there is no limit to employees’ chances for employment or promotion in the workplace.
