For most people, they do not always recognize this woman, and yet, we grew up with her. She was either our sister, our mother, our grandmother, or even our great grandmother. Born in 1922, Oak Park, Illinois. And yet, the world mourns her loss, and celebrates the life of an amazing woman, a wonderful mother, a grandmother, and a great grandmother. Betty White was truly an amazing woman.
As we write this, we want to be happy, and yet we may find ourselves sad that Betty White did not survive another year. However, she was ready to go. She really loved everyone and she is amazed at the legacy she left for everyone to enjoy. As did all the women she acted with, they were all legends. Beatrice Arthur, Betty White, Rue McClanahan, and Estelle Getty. All of them had their time on this Earth and all of them came to pass, as we all do. These women are the legends of comedy, though we cannot forget Rita Rudner, Barbara Streisand, or Bette Midler. The women who are the greats and there may be no other like any of them.
These women are everywhere and keep the world entertained everyday. They are your mothers, sisters, aunts, grandmothers, great grandmothers, and just women who make the world go round. When they are gone, as all mothers will be someday, as new ones are made, the cycle repeats itself but the loss is always felt, replaced by the continued love of another mother. Betty White and so many women, both known and unknown live such a tale everyday. When a mother or a grandmother is gone, it is a library of centuries and millenia of knowledge left behind.
So when you wish to mourn for Lady Betty White, to feel sad and cry, just remember: she lived to entertain you. She wants to see you happy and smiling again. She would have never wanted you to be sad. That is what all mothers and grandmothers want for their children and grandchildren. So when you think of Betty White, be happy that she graced this Earth and you got to be personally alive in her lifetime.
RIP Betty White 1922 – 2021 (99)
