Specialist Sports Insurance provider SportsCover Direct has uncovered most popular travel destinations for 2023. Dubai is crowned the must-see destination to visit with 105.3 billion views on TikTok – over 31,000 times its current population.
TikTok was recently reported to have taken over Google as Gen Z’s go-to search engine, so it’s no wonder the younger population head to the app for travel inspiration. SportsCover Direct analysed mentions of cities, countries, and sports on TikTok to see which are getting the most views.
A European city break is the most viewed destination holiday on TikTok, with cities in Europe making up half of the top 10 cities to add to your 2023 bucket list
Half of the top 10 cities with the highest number of TikTok views are in Europe, with Barcelona crowned the top European destination to add to your 2023 travel bucket list, followed by London and Paris
Japan is the most viewed country to travel to on TikTok – which is welcome news following the country’s 99% decrease in tourism due to the COVID-19 pandemic
Global Google searches for sports holidays are up 23% YoY as outdoor sports, fishing and golf, crowned the most popular to add to your bucket list
