Working as a home-based writer is one of the best things that have happened to me. Having a family of my own, I wanted to be with them all the time. I actually hate going to the office and dealing with bosses and colleagues personally. I am more of an introvert, really. And writing has always been my passion.
So, I came across this website that has a lot of job openings for writers that can work from home and I immediately applied. I remember that I have applied to a number of job postings and I was so thrilled when I got some replies from them. And there, I landed my very first job as a home-based writer.
Everything was new to me, I was trained online, which meant that I really have to figure some things on my own and that is when I started to discover a lot of things about myself.
My very first job was amazing. I wrote a number of articles a day and I get paid an acceptable amount a month. My family and I are thrilled because I get to stay at home and be with my children and at the same time, I’m earning some money as well. Being a fast writer and accomplishing the tasks right away, I decided to apply for more jobs because, why not? I have all day and I’m just at home, so I sent several applications and cover letters once again, and then I got an interview and there I landed my second job.
My second job was amazing as my boss was really great as well. He is very reliable and he is very kind. We had a solid working relationship that lasted for more than a year. He trusted me and he paid me on time and even gave me bonuses. And then I acquired another great boss who even sent me gifts on my birthday and on my child’s birthday. I was really surprised with it because I never imagined that kind of thing to happen, knowing that my boss lives a thousand miles away from home.
As of now, I am still writing from home and although my 3 first bosses are not my bosses anymore, I still hope that one day I will meet someone like them again, someone who values their employees even if they don’t see each other personally and don’t run from obligations because of the fact that all transactions are made online.
So far, my work experience has its ups and downs as well. There are times when I get rejected, times when I fail, etc. But still, I believe that I will be successful in this field simply because this is what I want to do, I love what I’m doing and I’m happy with what I’m doing. I also know that I work hard for it, which means that I deserve great home-based jobs. And I never lose hope, no matter what kind of obstacles that comes my way as I am passionate in what I do.
