Most parents in the digital age agree that kids are too attached to their screens. In fact, a new survey says nearly half of parents say their child is addicted to screens.
But what are they watching? And how does that content impact their health and development?
Language learning site Preply surveyed parents across the U.S. about their child’s screen time. Here is what they found:
- 45% think their children are addicted to screens
- 82% of parents report their children spend more time on screens than is ideal
- 68% of parents say children’s screen time has increased since 2020
- On average, children engage with screens 1.4 hours longer than their parents would like, per day
