Remember that your watch is part of your outfit, so the goal is to enhance your outfit and not to make the watch stand out from it. Here are some general tips to guide you to match your watch to your outfits.
1. Match the watch with metals on your dress
The metal frame around the face of your watch should match the color of metal elements of your outfit. The shape of the watch’s face is not that significant. The finish – be it matte, shiny patterned, or other accents – is essential. Watches come in different face materials, including steel, silver, gold, titanium, and platinum. The idea is to have your watch complement your ring and belt buckle. For example, you can have all your accessories with a silver or gold accent. This way, you will have to consider the color of your cufflinks, shoe buckles, and other jewellery on your outfit.
2. Match the straps to your leather outfit
Let the material and colour of your shoes guide your choice of the watchband. First, match your belt and shoes then go for a watchband that compliments the match.
