How To Get Free Legal Doctor Advice
If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed to you in the court of law. If you cannot afford a doctor, tough luck and better luck next time! Of course, there are Urgent Care places popping up all over the country, and although this has helped many, there are still many people who cannot afford it, as a single visit might cost anywhere from an average of $70 – $150.
Interesting society we live in, don’t we? For those who can afford health care, great. For those who cannot, oh well. Pay the price for being without insurance. If you have a broken leg or other urgent need, you could probably visit a hospital. Obamacare is an attempt at a solution, but it does not take any reality away from the real issue of yearly rising healthcare costs nor does it alleviate the situation, make it better, or provide any soluble permanent solutions for society and health care.
PROBLEM
What is one to do in times of need of a doctor? If you really need one and you cannot afford it, you can go to a doctor or the hospital and they cannot refuse you medical care and treatment. SOLUTION
Okay, so you may or may not technically get a doctor, but you will definitely receive free doctor advice or similar.
What are your free options? Of course, you can look up WebMD, but in doing so, you may misdiagnose yourself. Heck, I remember taking an abnormal psychology class, and kept diagnosing myself to the point where I definitely belonged in a mental psychiatric hospital. Fortunately, there is a better place to go for doctor advice, a physical place.
Walmart, Walgreens, ShopRite, CVS, RiteAid, or any store that has a pharmacy. The pharmacists and others working behind the counter deal with medicine all day and see people all day, everyday. They are asked tons of questions, they see plenty of illness, and they prescribe plenty of medicine throughout the day. Who better to ask about an illness or symptoms you may have?
You may also be doing them a favor because it may be an issue they are not familiar with. They may or may not be helpful to you if they do not have an answer for you. Some may try and help you figure out what might aid you in your illness, but most will probably recommend you go see a doctor. They are not working on a doctor’s salary, but a short wait in line, and asking for advice could never hurt, even if they may not know the answer. The majority of them are doing their jobs and will never hesitate to answer a few questions.
For example, one night my brother woke me up crying in pain. He said there was something going on with his mouth and there was excruciating pain on his gums and tongue. It looked white. He said it was so sharp that he thought he was going to die. Considering it was around 3 AM in the morning, no doctor was available and neither of us had health insurance, so the hospital was really not an option.
We took a 5 minute trip to Walgreens, open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including the pharmacy. We walked to the back of the store, where the pharmacy was. There was only one guy working and there was no line. He asked us what we needed. I told my brother to tell the man about his issue. Although the guy could not tell us exactly what it was, he did give us a solution that would help. He told my brother to go home and gargle warm salt water. After that, my brother was to gargle hydrogen peroxide in his mouth for about 3 minutes. Then my brother was to gargle warm water again and to gargle mouthwash.
What happened after he did all this? My brother started feeling better almost immediately and he was able to get back to sleep. The next day, there was no pain, there was no white. My brother did the whole routine one more time just to be sure. And since then, the issue has never repeated. What exactly was it? We can only speculate, but considering it was in his mouth, it would have likely been a bacterial infection, which in most circumstances, our bodies are ridden with bacteria and weakened diseases that do not actually affect our everyday lives, but once something weakens our bodies, like getting a cold or a flu, that bacteria attempts to override and go wild.
We did have to buy some hydrogen peroxide, which we weren’t sure if we had at home or not, so a trip to the “doctor” cost us about $2.
There are plenty of people who are not doctors, but have exceptional knowledge of how to deal with many common ailments. Many people go without health insurance everyday and cannot avoid getting sick and dealing with daily life. They must learn to become street smart and use their knowledge of home remedies used by their family for years. If you ever have issues, never hesitate to turn to your own family for help, your friends, and eventually make your way to the pharmacy. Not every situation or problem needs a doctor and can be easily solved with “doctor advice” from a non-doctor.
Good luck and make sure to thank your free doctor the next time you see him or her!
Note: It is highly recommended that this advice should not replace the need for a doctor. If you have an ailment that requires attention and cannot be identified by the pharmacist, it is imperative that you get a professional opinion or diagnosis.
