When you own your own domain name, no matter what it is, there is an overpowering feeling, a feeling of exploration, a feeling as if you own a business – you do. You own a domain name which is like a shop, building, or space in cyberspace. Owning a domain name is certainly gratifying, especially considering that you can put anything on your website (property), depending on your web host’s rules.
I do not know much about GoDaddy hosting and prefer DreamHost, but they serve pretty well as a TOP registrar for domain names, often having the latest and most affordable prices for domain names. There is no catch and I am just simply stating that this is a great time to start your business online, get your name online, and start developing an identity for yourself in the Real Estate of the Internet.
If you are interested in web services, you can get a web designer for a very affordable price nowadays, depending on what you want and require for your personal, professional, or business website. It would be in your best interest to register it for as long as you can. Sure, it may not be a great big website, but at least it’s your name, and possibly some information about you. Even if you do not want to do anything with it, just register and park it, so that maybe someday when you decide to do something about it, you will have it.
Consider it another .com boom, but .co is certainly very memorable and is likely to become just as popular as .com. As far as other domains go, they are just as cheap. and .co and .com domain names are very popular and there are still plenty that are not taken. Be creative with your domain names or use your own name! Your website is your extended personality online. Use it wisely and take advantage of the cheap prices! If you feel you are not ready, don’t feel rushed into it, but just know, someone else who may share your name or business name will be snatching up that domain name soon. Get it before it’s too late. If you have a more rare or unique name, you can probably consider yourself lucky. Google your name and see how many people have your name. Everyone who shares your name is a potential candidate for that domain name, so think about it, and be sure to buy it when you get a chance. Or if you just think of some random domain name or business you have always wanted, get it before it’s gone! You won’t regret it!
