As Americans plan their final summer trips and Labor Day getaways… many are dealing with sticker shock when it comes to a traditionally more affordable option: camping.
A new nationwide survey finds 2 in 3 Americans have camped or plan to camp this year and nearly 20% are doing so in an attempt to cut costs, but how much are they actually saving?
- Americans spend an average of $258 on camping, $487 on glamping
- 70% say camping has gotten more expensive in 2023
- Most popular national parks: Yellowstone (#1), Grand Canyon (#2), Zion (#3)
Not only are Americans dealing with increased fees, costs, etc., but as more people look for affordable getaways – campsites are becoming tougher to reserve. More than 1 in 3 have had issues with availability.
