The past few years have prompted many people to reassess both the work they do and how they do it. Whether people want to get a raise, land a new job or enjoy the pleasure of learning something new, upskilling can be a key first step.
To learn more about the skills Americans are learning and upskilling in, Preply analyzed Google Trends data focused on 50 different skills relevant to American workers.
Key takeaways:
- The job categories with the largest increases in interest over the past year: 1. Data science and visualization (+76%) 2. Digital marketing (+35%) 3. Data management (+34%).
- The most desirable skill sets in America right now are: 1. Coding 2. Data management 3. Design.
- Four of the five most coveted skills in America are coding languages (Python, SQL, Java and C++).
- While Bitcoin may still be a hot topic, interest in blockchain & cryptocurrencies has dropped nearly a third (-32%) in the past year.
