USA named the 10th worst place in the world for working women, new research reveals all
A new study from SmartSurvey can today reveal the best places in the world to be a woman in work, with the USA ranked as the 10th worst country in the world for working women.
The research analyses countries on:
- The gender wage gap
- Women as % of total workforce
- Total maternal and parental leave (weeks)
- Average number of days to start a business as a woman
The lowest-scoring countries for women in work:
- Mexico
- South Korea
- Poland
- Columbia
- Japan
- Italy
- Israel
- Austria
- Chile
- United States
Three of the worst countries are in South America, Mexico, Columbia and Chilies are the three of the worst places in the world for women in work.
The USA has the highest GDR in the world, however is one of the worst countries in the world for women in business.
The 10 best countries in the world for women in work
- Norway
- Denmark
- Finland
- New Zealand
- Sweden
- Portugal
- France
- Canada
- Greece
- Slovakia
Six of the top ten countries are in Europe, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Portugal, France and Greece, making countries within Europe a great place for women to work. Four of the top five countries for women in work are nordic countries, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Sweden!
